Something other than manny

Stay connected for news and updates

First off I would like to say that I haven't been on BCB for a long time because the college semester has started and I don't have alot of time or a fast enough connection to post much. During the summers I work for the US DOD which has a disgustingly fast connection compared to mine. So most of my posting is done over the summer, which is the best time to post anyways.

Now on to the actual diary....

Alot of people have been discussing the FA's list and either Brian Giles, Manny Ramirez or jonny Damon as some of the great trades that the Cubs could make this offseason. I was thinking about other players who could possibly be acquired and two great players came to mind: Hideki Matsui, if the Yanks don't resign him(which would be stupid of them not to, but you never know) and also Jim Thome from the Phillies. Either one could play right field.

Both players would have a huge offensive impact in our lineup, even better, in my opinion, than Damon or Giles. There is some risk of injury with Thome, but I think it's worth the chance.

Both the Phillies or the Yanks would have to be willing to part ways with great players, but hey, you can never tell what can happen. I would imagine there is a better chance of picking up Thome than Matsui.
