o's not trading tejada?

read near bottom of article of AP

http://famulus.msnbc.com/famulusspt/ap12-28-175448.asp?spt=mlb&vts=122820051831

In other news, the Orioles are on the brink of abandoning their effort to trade disgruntled shortstop Miguel Tejada, who has expressed a desire to leave Baltimore because the team has not done enough to improve itself during the offseason.
''There is absolutely no deal we find acceptable to trade this very special player to another team,'' an Orioles official said.
Tejada is entering the third year of a $72 million, six-year contract. He hit .304 with 26 homers and 98 RBIs in 2004, but that wasn't good enough to prevent the Orioles from logging their eighth consecutive losing season.

i hope this is true cause i'd hate to see prior traded

Hey Al..
Is there a way for you to just delete the diaries from people who think the rules don't apply to them?

by mikew on Dec 29, 2005 12:16 AM CST reply actions

Well...
... yes, I can, but as you can imagine, I really, really don't want to do that. I don't want to discourage participation here; at the same time, this is not a message board.

What I'm going to do here is remind everyone of the BCB Community Guidelines about diaries:

The only Community Guidelines for posting a diary are:

A diary must be a minimum of 300 characters or it is considered to be unsubstantial and will not be accepted by the site.
A diary must in some way belong on BCB -- in other words, it must relate to the Cubs, or to baseball, or to BCB, or to an existing thread or diary, etc.
A user may not post more than 2 diaries in a given day.
Tips on writing good diaries:
Some of the qualities that the most popular diaries often have in common are:

They expand upon the main idea with supporting examples, or statistical data, or a link to a relevant article, or a "thinking question" for others to consider, etc.--something beyond just the main idea itself.
They explore a topic, idea, or question that has not been explored recently, or at all, on BCB.
Keep in mind that if your diary contains only one point or idea that is not developed, expanded on, or supported with arguments or data, it is really not a diary--it is a comment that should be posted in an existing thread or diary.

And that last part of it is the key -- since the topic here was given as the Tejada rumors, we've covered that in many, many other places. This diary could have been started as a part of the comment thread on yesterday's main post.

Thanks.

LOL!
No problem. I realize often when I am driving to work, that some of the other drivers on the road are just heading home... and NOT from work.

and some
of those other 'drivers' probably shouldn't be driving.

But this IS kinda new....
the news just did come out on ESPN that the O's are not trading Tejada.

It's a slant on something else that's been posted.  New news if you will.

Whatupdoe is just trying to inform those of us who are not as well informed, and who might think we're getting Rondell.

by nickler on Dec 29, 2005 10:02 AM CST reply actions

Yes, it's new...
... but it is on a topic that has been covered elsewhere. Thus, it belongs in a comments thread there, not in a separate diary. Read the Community Guidelines about diaries again, please.
