And The Nominees Are...

The BCB Contest Committee met in executive session last night at a suitable place, a venerable Chicago institution, and after careful consideration and reminders that our decision (as mentioned in the original contest rules) is "final, irrevocable and infallible", have chosen the four finalists in the "Draw Chuck" contest.

Here's the deal. Since there are four finalists and four prizes, each of the finalists is already a winner. It's up to you, dear BCB reader, to determine who wins what. In fairness to all -- those who have been chosen will know which entry is theirs. And I know which one belongs to whom.

But I would appreciate it if the four people involved would not reveal their identities. This will make it a fair contest; after the voting is complete, I'll let you all know who they are. Feel free to lobby for your favorite in the comments.

There is a poll on the right sidebar for voting; use the identification of each one as shown below the pictures. Voting will close at 5 pm CT, Wednesday, January 4, at which time I'll reveal the winners' identities (by BCB user name only), and award the prizes.

NOTE! Unlike our voting in the 2005 Best MLB Blog Awards, for which I encourage you to vote (for BCB!) early and often, in the Draw Chuck voting, please vote ONCE ONLY. Thanks.

you have to admit, tho ...
that dead horse is making a nice come back!

This was a tough one...
... each has something to recommend. It came down to either 2 or 3 for me, although I could still see 1 or 4 winning. I love the "In Dusty We Don't Trusty" shirt (BTW, what's become of Chris Festa, anyway?) and the dead horse bit from 3. Chuck as Napoleon is a great concept and the overall crazed look from 4 is apropos as well. Nice job, one and all.

And gee Chuck, perception and projection are interesting things, ain't they?

Yeah...
...despite my best efforts, I can't get unsubscribed to his e-mails. I have to admit I own the 2003 and 2004 versions. At the time, they seemed pretty neat to me. And not that Festa needs to live up to any of my expectations, but his little business sure took an interesting turn, what with all those 312 Girl shirts and what not. I do have to say I wouldn't mind meeting some of the girls that modeled the shirts, though.

What is
The circular item just to the left of "Chuck's" head in picture #2?

by TC Cubby on Dec 29, 2005 10:47 AM CST reply actions

Oh, you meant in #2...
... I thought you were talking about #3.

I'm not sure!

by Al Yellon on Dec 29, 2005 10:48 AM CST up reply actions

No,
Picture #2, not #3.  You're now confusing Chuck with a dead horse!

I think...
It's a dart board with a picture on it. Could be wrong, though.
Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?

#1 is spectacular
if one can understand the true message in the photo, that one wins hands down.

I agree.
If you read between lines (pixels, actually.) that one is your choice. Good work.
According to the Chicago Tribune: "The Oakland A's are 32-0 when they have scored more runs than their opponents.

SO WHAT IS IT?
That is so special about #1?  Enlighten me with the "hidden meanings"....

perhaps
some reading about Napoleon Bonaparte would be apt.  Hence the "Napoleon's Complex"--some more reading would be beneficial.  And then you would get a huge laugh out if it.

I voted
for this one as well. It's priceless.

Wow...
I guess the people that wanted Mets blog and bat girl stopped voting.  TCR is tied for second and 1% from being tied for first.  Go vote again.
