Who Renews Cubs Season Tickets - Why, Wrigley Field Premium!?!
Well, that was certainly frustrating.
I'm doing end-of-year bills, one of which is the payment of my Cubs season ticket invoice. I just went online to do it and was absolutely astounded at the lack of user friendliness. More importantly, the system makes you go through a couple of pages to provide personal information before getting down to the payment. I was more than a little surprised to see that each of these pages says that the information is going to WRIGLEY FIELD PREMIUM (not the Cubs, and bear in mind this is for a Cubs season ticket account), including address, phone number, etc. It then asked me for my credit card information for Wrigley Field Premium. (Tell me again, the Tribune's position in the lawsuit is that they are separate companies?)
Having endured all of this, I learned that there is a $35.00 "Convenience Charge" (whose convenience? Wrigley Field Premium?) for making a renewal payment online.
I don't think so. I'm faxing in a credit card payment on the old-fasioned mid-90s computer printout.
Ugh. Goodbye, Tribune Company 2005. Happy New Year to BCB!

I never do it online ( pay my cubs tickets)
tickets for credit. I always thought it was too complicated
but for the airline miles I would be happy to give them
a check. Can't wait to shell out $4400 next week

$35 for online renewal?
I'm also surprised that the Cubs, who claim "no relationship" with Wrigley Field Premium, would ask for this info for this purpose.
I was planning on bringing my invoice to the ballpark in person. Now, I'll definitely do that.
Are they taking...
Also i have an extra daily season ticket (single) if anyone is interested. Email me at psu98alum@aol.com for more details.

The deadline for renewals, IIRC...
I suspect it's way too much work for them to do this sort of thing there. In the end, I think they want us all to do it online, but I won't do it for $35 -- that's an outrage (last year it was $5).
I renew with a CC
Me too...
Last year we did get the chance for Buffett tickets on top of the calender (only given out when we have a losing season) and Vine Line.
I always thought we should get first dibs for the Cubs Convention passes based on how many tickets we have, but I totally understand they want to open it up to other fans. As they already have us as fans, they want to get the casual fans interested too.
Just curious about what other teams do extra for season ticket holders. Anyone know?

Sparkles this one is for you, I was sitting at work today and a lady asked for the, 'Godfather'. Me, being as lazy as I am, yelled at my part-timer to look up the "Grandfather". It took me about a minute to realize what i did.
Then later in the day as I'm winding down the shift, I'm training this girl who will be my replacement for when I leave for my internship in Orlando. Yet another lady walks up and asks for the movie, "Must Love Dogs". I look up and down the piles of movies sitting there, and I spot it in the stack. So me being as intelligent as I am seeing it right next to the movie "March of the Penguins" go to her, "Can you grab me that Must Love Penguins down there?"
It's been a great day at work! I'm going and getting lit up and passing out, Happy New Years!!

no - mean people can be very, very hard to deal with especially in the work place, these people tend to be on the proverbial axe's radar if you know what I mean.
What happened to you not liking it when people cry?

Some teams...
Some give season ticket holders options to buy extra tickets for certain games ahead of general public sale.
The Cubs feel, apparently, they don't need to do any of this because they have a season ticket waiting list.
Other Teams
This year, the Nationals have promised to send a free copy of the season highlight DVD to those who paid in full by the deadline, but no one has seen it yet. Last year, they gave inaugural season baseballs and special pins. There are also discounts on full season seats($45 cut to $40 for the good infield seats) and parking ($2 discount per game, starting this year). Otherwise, not much.
The Orioles in the past have sent small gifts of varying quality (a clock, a Ripken photo) and a Christmas card with free tickets (four this year) to the off-season fanfest. This event is actualy next week, so I intend to go up there and ask them why they apparently think that Prior isn't good enough for them. Then probably cancel my ticket plan ....
Back in the good old days
get. An option to buy extras before
they went on sale to the public.
A couple of coupons for $5 or $10
at the gift shop and the old outside
cafe.
The problem with offering season
ticket holders dibs on Convention tickets
or extra tickets is that a large number
of season ticket holders are scalper/
brokers

wrigley field premium
Renewed
Yeah, that $35.00 definitely would have been worth it. (Rolls eyes).
I know you don't...
In fact, when I do this, I always bring a copy of the invoice and get them to stamp it with their "Received" stamper, for further proof.
