Baker and Prior

I'm watching the game on TV, seeing Prior having a great game. The offense is clicking, we're up 7-0, Prior gets out of the fifth no probs, qualifying for the win.

Bottom of the inning, Prior comes up to bat.

What the hell is Baker thinking? Is his mission in life to destroy our young arms? Prior is making a comeback from the DL, there's NO FREAKING REASON to keep him in a game that is pretty much safely tucked away. But he does anyway.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

No reason?
Not to sound like a Baker apologist, but Prior does have to build up his arm strength.  I question more allowing Prior 90 pitches in his rehab outing, but nonetheless, he only threw 92 today.  Not pushing the envelope too much, I think.

Prior...
... threw 88 pitches at Albuquerque last Thursday. I see no reason that 92 was out of line today.

Yep...
92 pitches was fine, actually, that's less than I thought he would throw, I was being pessimistic and thought he'd throw 120 over 6.

Yeah
any time he throws under 100 pitches I'm stunned by Dusty's restraint. I too was thinking he'd stay in until around 120.

Bigger Q is...
what about Wood?

Dusty needs to have a chat with Woodie and get him to calm down.  I can't take another year of unfulfilled potential...

Let's play two!!!
