Nomar joins Neifi All-Star campaign

Well, sort of, at least.  This article about Nomar's rehab - http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050604&content_id=1075800&vkey news_chc&fext.jsp&c_id=chc - ends with him talking about Neifi's performance at short this year.  He jokes that the reason he, Nomar, has so many votes for NL SS is that people see the performance of the Cubs SS in the box-score and assume it's him, when it's actually Neifi.  And that a Cubs SS should make the team, the one starting everyday right now.

So Al, maybe your Neifi All-Star campaign is taking off... after all, Nomar also said he's been spending a good amount of time online lately.

Say...
... I hope Nomar's writing in ballots for Neifi!

But we don't want him spending TOO much time online... he could hurt his elbow like Z did!

You know
maybe we should all vote for Nomar, since our Neifi! campaign doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  It's clear that Nomar won't be able to play, so if he gets elected then there's a better chance that Neifi gets chosen as one of the reserves.  Now I doubt that LaRussa would chose to start him over Eckstein or even Izturis (who probably should be starting but is sixth in balloting) but it would probably improve his chances of getting picked.

You've got a point here...
... an injured player has to be replaced, and who knows where Izturis, Eckstein or Barmes will be a month from now?

Vote Neifi! AND Nomar. Remember, you can vote 25 times per valid e-mail address.

Tried it
I voted for Nomar as NL SS and wrote in Neifi. Unfortunately the All Star site wouldn't allow more than 1 vote for any infield position. The write-in overrode the vote for SS.

I meant...
... vote separate ballots for each!
