Whew! Close one.
Well, maybe not a close one, but you can breathe easier now that Preston Wilson has signed with the Nats. No need to worry about the Cubbies taking a step backward by signing him (even just for a little while).
So... what is the latest on Dunn? Hollandsworth has been pretty awful of late and that includes today. His hit was a cheap blooper out into left that probably would have been caught if the LF was positioned a little better. Now that Hairston is cooking they could use some more OBP/SLG from the left field slot.

More on Dunn...
No way, I wouldn't want to see that happen! Jim Hendry needs to do something aggressive to try acquire Dunn and have to give up some very good prospects from Cubs' farm that what the Reds want. Also, I know that Reds are trying to trade Randa, Kearns, and Griffey. However; Griffey's contract is more difficult to trade because of his huge contract. Dunn's value makes more sense and easier to trade. But most teams aren't interested in Kearns because the teams mostly want Dunn instead.
So keep tuned. Hopefully Cubs can somehow get Dunn and prevent Astros from getting Dunn and/or Randa.

Not only do we want to get Dunn..
If i have time over the next week, i'll look into the too-many-pitchers problem i'm talking about above. Don't count on it though, as i'll be on a slooooow internet connection...

Berkman's knee...
That being said, I hope they make the moves necessary to force him into the outfield
