Alou's the man

Stay connected for news and updates

I think this idea has been posed before but what the hey.

I really think that the Cubs should try to get Moises Alou back in left field. The Giants are a struggling team right now and need to clear to salary's for next season. And although i think i remember reading that Alou senior was saying that there not going to make trades because there is still alot of season to be played. But realistically there season is all but done with. Alou is not a long term contract type player so the Giants might get a good deal for some prospects. Also this could be a good deal to dish out Patterson.

Maybe he is costly but if you want to win you gotta spend. Winning cost money and we have to have the cahones to spend like winners. Otherwise what the hell is the point of trying to compete.

Alot of talk was about getting Dunn but Alou would bet twice as good as Dunn, in my opinion. Although if the Giants did loose Alou that would mean that they would lose about half of there offensive productivity. I don't know how willing they're are to trade there best player and then roll over and die....but it would be nice as buttah if they did.

Alou is also having a good season thus far:

.331/.429/.502 and 12 homers

which is decent but I like that batting average.

Plus I think his second half of the season would blossom in the Cubs line up. Probably right after Aramis in the line up. And let's not forget that he has been to the playoffs with the Cubs before. Let's do forget the outcome though. He would be comfortable back with the Cubs. Plus he want's to close the unfinished business from 2003.

A player like Alou would bring alot of energy to the club and a winning attitude. A REAL good solid veteran with power, just for Dusty's sake.

My vote is for Alou summer 2005.
