Randy Winn?

What about this guy?

AVG: .275
OBP: .342
SB: 12
SLG: .391
SO: 53
BB: 37

He's been playing left in Seattle and hitting second behind Ichiro, but he very well could lead off if so inclined. He has very little power (6 HRs) but his OBP is decent and he doesn't strike out much. Switch hitter too.

This was my friend Dave's thought...
... when I asked him who the ONE guy he'd get would be.

I dunno. I think IF the Cubs get a bat, it should be a power bat.

Just announced on Fox that Winn
was scrapped from the lineup.  I wonder where he is going.

San Francisco
for Yorvit Torrealba and Jesse Foppert.  Scratch him off the list.

What a weird, weird deal.
That's one of the most stupid trades I've seen. The Giants just lost two young pitchers for an also young, but expendable, outfielder. They have a shitload of them! Agh. Now they have to stick to Matheny.
According to the Chicago Tribune: "The Oakland A's are 32-0 when they have scored more runs than their opponents.

Winn...
... isn't young, either. He's 31.

But then, that would be young, on this year's Giants.

maybe they're gonna flip him?
can't see why the giants would want him at this point in their season. i mean, i know that division is horrible. but their team is in shambles. they need to shed some of these old guys and get ready for next year, or they could suck for a long time to come.

What they need...
is Barry Bonds.

The Giants Think They're In It
The NL West is so bad they think they have a shot. They have refused to be sellers and said yesterday they're buyers, and I guess this proves it. So no one is getting Jason Schmidt apparently, either. But Winn??? I guess this makes Marquis Grissom expendable, LOL.

I dont understand this trade for the Giants
Randy Winn's just not that great.  They already have Alou/Ellison/Feliz/Tucker in the OF..I just dont understand it.  Winn really isn't a whole lot better than Jason Ellison, and Ellison is only 300K.  I think Winn makes like 3 and a half.  Its not really the fact that they traded Foppert (as I think he's all but done), I think Yorvit if given the opportunity will be a pretty good everyday catcher.  I dont know what Sabean was thinking here.
