What is to be done?

One of the most enjoyable things (at least for me) of blogging about the Cubs is speculating about what their next move(s) should be, personnel-wise. Even though i agree with Al that the season isn't quite over, our playoff chances are certainly in the grave, and the gravedigger is already tossing dirt on us. Assuming we don't wake up, beat the daylights out of the jerk burying us (the Reds), and go on a ballistic streak of baseball, the season is over. In the spirit of keeping the faith (at least for next year), lets start speculating on what the Cubs need to do to get to the promised land in 2006. Specifically, lets get together a wish list. Not everyone will agree on it, but lets just start by brainstorming needs. In the true spirit of brainstorming, lets not try to knock other's ideas and just get a master list for starters, and then we can start eliminating the ridiculous.

I'll start with this, what i think is the biggest need for this team: a leadoff hitter, preferably in CF. Fortunately, two of the biggest names in free agency this offseason fit this bill in Juan Pierre and Johnny Damon. Even if Corey figured things out in AAA, we can put Pierre or Damon in LF.

What else do we need?
