Just got back from the game.
I'll start off with how the winning run scored. I live in Philadelphia and have seen a lot of Phillies games this season. There was no way you give Burrell anything decent to swing at because he will swing at just about anything. He proved that in his at-bat in the 9th. Why doesn't Barrett run Rollins back to 3rd?!?!?!? The infield is playing in, and either Remlinger or Lee will be covering homeplate. You run him back to 3rd, and if no one is there, the worst that can happen is the bases loaded, 2 outs against a rookie who hasn't been clutch in the past few weeks or so. I'll take my chances with Remlinger against Ryan Howard. This is the type of game we will remember when the Cubs lose out on the Wild Card to the Astros by 2 or 3 games.
I don't understand why Williams is in the rotation instead of Rusch. Rusch pitched lights out tonight and think Dusty should move Williams to the bullpen and put Rusch back into the rotation. The Cubs made another so-so pitcher, Tejada, look like a Cy Young winner tonight.
The buzz throughout the stands tonight was the Flyers signing Peter Forsberg. This should tell how baseball is viewed in Philadelphia. The Eagles are number 1, Flyers #2, Sixers #3 and the Phillies are dead last in terms of interest from the Philadelphia sports fan.
I'm going again tomorrow and it's a 1 PM EST start. Hoping Prior can win the series for the Cubs tomorrow against Myers! At least for my sake!!!! I've taken enough abuse during the game and ride home from my friends.
