Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Down on the Farm

Ricky Nolasco fired a gem last night in the AA Playoffs.  His line was 8 IP, 6 H, 0 R and 11 K's.

Nolasco was also named AA Pither of the Year.  He finished 1st in K's (173), tied for 1st with 14 wins, and was 3rd in ERA (2.89).

He is undoubtedly our #1 prospect for a pitcher.  He's been really good from the first day he stepped on the mound for us.

will nolasco
be a part of the mix for the cubs in 2006?

Nolasco..
... will likely be added to the 40-man roster in the offseason, with an invitation to spring training.

Will he have a realistic shot at the 25-man roster for 2006? Maybe. He hasn't thrown at Triple-A yet.

I agree...
and I went to baseball cube and they have some stats of Nolasco from Triple-A, and even though it is just 40 innings they are not very good.
Cubbie blue always sPaRkLeS in my eyes.

he was called
up in an emergency last year to AAA and got bombed.  I wouldn't put too much stock into those stats.  Nolasco will spend much of next year in AAA, I would bet.

Could be ready to take Maddux's place in '07.
