Unlikely???
The Indians would be tripping over themselves to make that deal.

Whoa!
Give up Murton AND Pie?!  Whew.  Have to think hard on that one.

If Drew
is demanding the money that's being rumored, forget it! Have we not learned our lesson with injury prone players??

Disappointing, but true
C - Barrett
1B - Lee
2B - DeRosa
SS - Izturis
3B - Ramirez
LF - Murton
CF - Roberts
RF - Jones

SP: Zambrano
SP: Westbrook
SP: Lilly
SP: Hill
SP: Cotts

Call me the eternal pessimist.  Soriano is too much, Drew is too injured.  I think we even make a play for Zito after Soriano gets signed.  Carl Crawford is an option, as is Sarge, Jr.

We might even be worse than last year.

Carols Zambrano will win a Cy Young before Prior and Wood...

by HoHoKam on Nov 17, 2006 12:23 PM CST reply actions

Um....
Why on earth is a guy who hasn't started a game since 2004 your #5 starter above a guy such as Wade Miller, whom was signed to start.

Have you even looked up Neal Cotts stats? In 2003, Cotts was 1-1 as a starter (4 starts) with an 8.10 ERA........and only 1 start the next year. 5 career starts, none in 2 years, and he's your five?

I guarantee you that Cotts is NOT in the rotation. Cotts was acquired as an insurance policy so Jimbo can move Scott Eyre for maximum value.....perhaps Westbrook, Jennings or an OF.

And who is Carols Zambrano?

A month...
isn't WAY too early. But it's still too early. I say, let's wait until March 31st. I mean, it won't be any fun to guess then, but at least we'll all have a much greater chance at being right.

Why do people need to put down when other people are having fun? Obviously, there are those of us that enjoy doing this. If you don't care, THEN DON'T FRIGGIN' SAY ANYTHING!!!

That 5th ???/???/???... in the rotation..........
is kind of a cop-out isn't it? I mean, isn't that the one of the HARDEST parts of figuring this out?

2B - DeRosa
CF - Crawford
1B - Derek Lee
RF - Drew
3B - Aramis Ramirez
LF - Jones
SS - Peralta
C - Molina

1 - Zambrano
2 - Westbrook
3 - Hill
4 - Lilly
5 - Mateo

In agreement with Al...
I thought about throwing out some ridiculous lineup featuring Willie Mays Hays, Charlie Conway, and Baby (hardball), because I'm sure that a fictional lineup has just as much of a chance of getting every position right as a normal one.

I doubt anyone will be able to hit it exactly in a month either...give it until the end of March and even then it should be a stretch.

March is still too early...
March 31st/April 1st is better.

I mean, you want more people to get exactly correct, right? Really, what's the point in people having fun if it's not going to be exactly right? That's stupid. You should only do something if you have a high chance of succeeding, not because it is "fun" or "enjoyable".

I agree with you on this. Definitely.

I'm sorry...
did i criticize this diary or making predictions? HELL NO. So back off with your smartass cricicism. I said it was highly unlikely to get it exactly right for a LONG time.

Did I say "it's stupid to do this now"? No. I wasn't insulting this diary or anyone making their lineups. So keep your sarcastic drivel to yourself, self-righteous idiot.

Actually...
by saying that a "ridiculous...fictional lineup" has as much chance as being right as anyone who does that here, and then not offering any suggestions... That is MOCKING the diary. If mocking something isn't a low-brow way to criticize something, then... I guess I am wrong. And then, in fact, saying you would wait until March, yes, you are criticizing this diary.

You could have said, "This is ridiculous to do this before March." It would have been the same statement. You will say of course, that you weren't mocking the diary. But if comparing my lineup projection to a ridiculous, ficitional lineup isn't mocking it, then what is it?

Besides, your subject here was an apology, so you obviously know you did something wrong. =)

I wouldn't mind that either...
Although I do remember the Tampa Bay manager (and I'm sorry, I don't remember if it was this past year or in 2005 when Lou was the manager), saying that although Crawford was fast, he wasn't suited for the leadoff role. Something about striking it out or pressing too much or something.

Obviously, if it was Lou, he'd probably be hesitant to do it again. My lineup is similar. Although I do like putting Drew between Lee and Ramirez for the R-L-R thing, and that .400 OBP in front of ARam. But then this isn't what we "want", but rather what we "think". It will be interesting to see what happens.

lol
I don't care what you read on "rotowire", Neal Cotts is an insurance arm for when Hendry moves Eyre in the Winter.....if you think a guy with 5 career starts and none in 2 years is starting, you've got another thing coming......I am going to go out on a limb and GUARANTEE that Cotts is not a starter.....that's baseball retarded.
