Dates for Arbitration Hearings Set
The Daily Southtown -
(http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/dssports/pro/311sd9.htm)
has the dates for Arbitration for the 3 remaining Cubs:
Will Ohman Feb. 3rd
Juan Pierre Feb. 14th
Carlos Zambrano Feb. 17th
So basically, we have a nice long period to wait for Zambrano and his large difference, but Ohman is going to come to a head right away. I wonder if that is to show Pierre and Zambrano that we mean business about penny pinching...

I think it means...
I have a feeling...
As I said yesterday -- and it may have been too buried in the comments -- there is more to this than money.
Beyond that I cannot and will not comment.
I wouldn't be surprised

Maybe, but...
My sources say:
it... is... not... going... to... happen.
The Cubs are not on the market. Period.

You wink, but...
Unless YOU (or Chuck, who seems absolutely convinced a sale is "imminent") have sources in the Trib boardroom, I'm going with what I know.
to be strict
on researching further the massive tax judgment tribco lost, i understand they reserved some $250mm last quarter for it and floated a debt issuance to cover the rest. so they don't need to raise cash immediately, it seems to me.
