Moderated Blogs?
From what I'm seeing, there seems to be a bit of a contest to see who can wreak the most damage on certain folks' blogs. Maybe it's time to moderate the postings on Cub blogs to eliminate undesirable postings since people can't seem to exercise self control?
It seems like we're having a battle between the sides of the Force. I don't know about other folks, but I like to visit 1060 West and BCB. I feel I get a pretty good balance between the optimism on one side versus the realism based on data at the other. I think both sites should be able to co-exist without fighting with each other. Can't people take the high road any more?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Now that
This is such a one-sided opinion.
Opinions
As far as it goes, while I read both BCB and 1060, I've pretty much only posted here. I don't consider myself to be a member of any particular faction. Criminy, if Cub fans can't get along, what hope is there for the Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq?
Have a good day
So?
Did anyone ever get an apology?
Forgive me,
I think...
This has been exaggerated, I think...

But you can...
I think that is all the editorial control that is necessary.

I commend Al
Baseball is perhaps the most wonderful game ever devised by humans. Yes, it is a competition because it involves winning and losing but it is a game nonetheless. It should be fun. It should be entertainment. As such, the "reality" based opinions posted here and elsewhere tend to negate the fun aspect of the game and drive wedges between those who prefer to maintain hope and the fun that goes along with it and those who see it as something other than an entertainment.
Al is tops. I think he clearly recognizes the shortcomings of the Cubs but, to risk an overused cliche', sees the cup as half full. Why should this be the cause of such angst and vitriol on the part of unamed others? Those who are so wrapped around the axle with their versions of "reality" are certainly entitled to voice their opinions but should have the good sense to excercise some restraint. If they are unable to they should direct their energies into something productive, not this inane promulgation of us vs. them. Their stances are immature--juvenile at best and serve no purpose. They are no more than bullies whose view of life and the world is likely to be as warped as their senses of propriety. It's about fun, stupid!
Keep up the great work Al. I think you have shown the balance that we all, for the most part, enjoy most about your blog.
Aww, that was so nice.
Ok, no more girliness from me today, I promise. It's Kerry Wood day!! Woohooooo!!
Thanks, Luigi...
Sure, the Cubs sucked the last two weeks. Of course I know that. I witnessed it, like you all did.
But I'm not going to play Chicken Little, because the sky isn't falling -- yet.
About the question posed above -- yes, I can delete comments/diaries/etc if I find them objectionable. I have found almost NO cause to do that, even when I've strongly disagreed with the content of those posts.
