There seems to be a school of thought around here that getting rid of Dusty now won't make a difference to this team. I'm going to come right out and admit that I don't understand this logic one iota. Yes, there have been injuries. Yes, there are some horrific players on this team. Yes, no one should have to look down the bench and see a hopeful Freddie Bynum staring back at him.
I believe, however, that it's not so much the players, as how Dusty has used them, the decisions he has made, the inexplicable mistakes he continues to make day and day out.
So, you guys don't think firing Dusty would accomplish anything? May of us beg to differ. And we're going to use this diary to tell you, specifically, where it would have made a difference.
So, everyone who thinks that firing Dusty is the right thing to do, let's start listing all the mistakes he's made and what we would have done differently. More often than not, when Dusty does something stupid, it's not because he hasn't had choices. It's because he's made the WRONG choice.
I'll start: (with apologies to ontheuptick)
There never should have been a shred of doubt that Walker was the starting 2b on this team and JHJ was the backup. Walker should be in the lineup EVERY DAY.
