The Cubs are on WCIU tonight, which as usual means that most of you won't be able to see it if you live outside Chicago (unless you're in one of the areas carrying FSN North, or you're outside the arcane MLB territorial Cub map area).
Maybe you think this is a good thing, too, considering how the club's been playing lately. But, when Z is pitching, it's at least always fun to watch. And, the Cubs do have a winning record (2-1) in WCIU-televised games.
|Today's Starting Pitchers|
He struck out only two in his last start against Cleveland, so he now is fourth in the NL in K's. He's still leading the league in walks. The Cub team is leading the major leagues in walks, and is last in batter walks drawn.
You'd think even Dusty Baker would notice something like this.
Zach Jackson, another lefty, is making his fourth major league start (fifth appearance). His stats are odd -- 27 hits allowed in 17 IP, but only two walks. Of the 27 hits, four are home runs -- all of which came in the one game he won, a 6-5 win over the Reds which he left trailing 5-4.
Plus, the Cubs don't generally do well against pitchers named Zach.
Finally, I changed the top-right quote this afternoon. Lee is absolutely correct.
