POSITIVE POST!!!

OK guys, let's try a little something different.  I have been just as guilty as the next person but let us try something a little different.

Star-divide

This post is meant to be positive, no negatives.  You can talk about that has been negative by trying to find a positive in it.  I am going to start it out.

Although I don't believe that we need Neifi on this team or batting 2nd in the lineup, Neifi came into tonight's ball game batting .318 for the month of June.  Even though I want Dusty gone as much as the next person, perhaps these stats have been making it hard for him to sit Perez.  I also want to make it known that I am a big fan of Walker so that was hard for me to say.

JP has been having a sub par year to say the least, but he has been asked to do things that he is not been doing before.  He is being forced to try to bunt for base hits a lot more than he ever has before.  Thus, his average is gonna suffer.  I am gonna be hopeful that JP really ups his numbers after Dusty is gone.

Now see everyone, I didn't spontaniously combust from saying some positive things about our Cubbies so everyone else give it a try.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Around the MLB
Well I can enjoy some of the other stuff
Clemens goes 0-2 after giving up on earned run
in 6 plus innings. YIPEE.
Yanks lose to Braves  and our old friend Kyle
with the 17 million dollar contract gives up two
in the 8th to raise his ERA to just under 5.00
( bad for starter , disaster for a set up man)
Red Sox beat Mets.
Todd Wellmeyer is  almost gets a win pitching
two scoreless innings for Royals but BP blows
that.

For the record Santo , I am not in the blow
up the Cubs group because you can't go out
and get 20 new players or expect you can
bring up 20 or even two EFFECTIVE ones from
the farm. I don't see too much positive in the
team now but I do see more potential than
most here. I do believe Dusty, Clines  , Sarge
need to go because of the complete and total failure
of the team to execute at the most basic level.

I sincerely believe there will be some postive things
after the AS break.

Um
If all goes right with my current situation I'll be making good money with Disney and have the ability to get anyone into the parks for free anytime.

I s'pose that's a good thing.

walking in Beantown
While walking home from school the other night while wearing a Cubs t-shirt which was partially covered by my bag strap a guy walking with 2 girls towards me makes eye contact, says "Cubbies!" and keeps chatting with the girls

Zambrano
Man, what a heart this guy has.  A very good effort last night.  Those three runs he surrendered were pretty cheap.  He gets two hits, including the two run blast to make it a game, and his other hit was a lead off hit too.  At least we know we at have a chance to win every fifth day.
One day, the dream will come true.

Heart is Right
Lots o' heart.  He singlehandedly turned the game around last night. What I was most impressed with was not the home run (which was uber-impressive) but instead how he performed in the following half-inning...literally mowing the next 3 Brewers batters down in order.

They Scored!
It wasn't a shut-out!!  Also, for the first time in a long time even when they were losing it seemed as though they could come back and they did.

A positive in all of this mess
is that we have a chance to start over.  It won't be painless and it may take awhile, but our current team is flawed and not championship caliber.  Now it's pretty obvious to everyone and we'll have the chance to start selling off our bad team and hope that we turn in to a good team.  Let's stay positive here and hope the selling and acquiring is done right and we'll be headed in the right direction.  Time to move on, and at least we can hope for a positive future.
