Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Anybody going to the Mets series

being here in NY means I don't get to see the Cubs play. This year I've decided to make that effort and go to Shea. Will there be a strong Cub presence there? I don't have tickets yet but would like to sit in a Cubs area. Monday night, Maddux pitching, is when I'd like to go. The Mets are packing it in this year, and tickets will be hard to come by, but I'm thinking of going all out, just to see my Cubbies.

Good for you
Regardless of how bad the team on the field is this year, they are still wearing the Cubs uniform.  That's why I've flown to Chicago to see 'em once this year (28 April, Maddux beat the Brewers, his last good appearance), and drove 3 hours each-way to Houston for a game (7-2 loss to Clemens).  The players deserve our support, even if you have to put a brown bag over your head to protect your dignity :)

Of course I am going but
Tickets are EASY to get. Almost everything on
eBay is going UNDER face value. I just got outbid
on 4 behind the plate which should have had a face
of over $60 and went for $200 for the 4. I got one of
my clients to get tickets for the Monday game.
I have great seats for Wed afternoon ( taking a
half day off) However I might have an extra for
Tuesday so e mail me at jrosner@kino.com and
at least we can meet up.
Also one of those you can't make up this stuff stories
about Cub fans. I had a pair of great seats for Monday
which I listed on the NYC Craig's list when my
client got the othes. I sold them to  young lady buying them for her boyfriend , a die-hard Cub fan who grew up
in Africa the son of missionaries listening to Cub games
on the radio at night. He has never even been to Wrigley
( they both work at the UN) Next year I am going to
get them a pair of my season tickets to go to Wrigley

Africa
That's an awesome story, Jessica.

Take that, KMOX!

(And before you all chime in, I know our rivals are no longer on that station, but if the guy has already grown up...oh, never mind.  I've gone way too far for such a casual dig at our competitors and their warm and fuzzy stories about growing up in the rural south listening to games at night, etc.)
