Revisiting the A-Rod Rumors

Im not saying Al was lying or anything that has been  brought up in the past, but I doubt it will happen. From what I remember, it was supposed to be Ramirez + someone for A-Rod. How is this supposed to happen if we all know Ramirez wont pick up his option for next year? Why did we even believe it would ever happen other than before the trade deadline? Goodbye Ramirez, goodbye.

Did we really need a new diary for this?
what does this have to do with anything that is happening now.

by Thelonious on Sep 13, 2006 1:05 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Umm
It has everything to do with whats going on now. All we have left is the offseason.

What the hell are you talking about?
"How is this supposed to happen?"

It's NOT going to happen, ever....drop it!

Just say NO to Cedeno in 2007!!!!!

that's
exactly what i was saying......

by luv4cubs2 on Sep 13, 2006 11:18 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

It was brought up as a RUMOR...
...a POSSIBILITY, not as an inevitablility. Al never said it was a cinch to happen, he made it clear that it was highly unlikely.

It was merely something to stoke the fires a little. I don't see what the problem is.

did
i ever say there was a problem? Im just saying it DEFINITLY 100% wont happen anymore.

Thanks for clearing that up...
...I was still clinging to the .00001 of a percent that we might land him this offseason.

So were others.

Thank you for getting my feet back on the ground. I was like Icarus, flying too close to the sun.

Hmmm...
... I wonder how he knows it "DEFINITLY 100%" won't happen? Think that's Brian Cashman posting here?

Considering the spelling...
...could be.

well
how will it happen since we know Ramirez wont take the option. And why would he take the option and then get traded to NY??

by luv4cubs2 on Sep 13, 2006 4:21 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sign-&-trade deals...
... are common in the NBA, not so much in baseball, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be done.

Nor does it mean that such a deal couldn't be done NOT involving Ramirez.

I don't think it's very likely either, but never say never.

i am
going to start a diary about how the cubs DEFINITELY 100% won't trade boom boom bynum for boof bonser. or maybe that we won't trade cedeno for johan santana. or maybe that i'm 100% sure they won't rename wrigley field "the pink taco".

You can also be sure
Mr Hendry won't be drinking Sharps at the company picnic.

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
