Thank You Al
Al, I would really like to thank you for having and maintaining this fantastic cubs blog. I never go a day without checking this site. I just love this site, and I am really happy that you take the time to run this site for the rest of us fans. I really do appreciate it!! I encourage everyone else to thank Al, because he really does put a lot of work into this site for all of us. He certainly deserves our thanks.

Much appreciated.
Surely sarcasm...
Anyway, here's my thanks to you Al. I don't think most people realize how much time and effort you put into this site. It's amazing to me how many people bitch and complain like someone's forcing them to visit your site. You put up with a lot, and I certainly appreciate it.

kidding
it is laudable that you put so much time and work.
Thanks...
and someday, when they DO win, the victory will be all that much sweeter. If you don't believe me, just ask a Red Sox or White Sox fan.
I agree
And the sheer fact that when the Cubs suck, they suck like they mean it is morbidly entertaining. If they were hovering in limbo, like 7 or 8 games under .500 I would probably be more upset, but the way they constantly reinvent their losing strategies and find new ways to lose every night is, on many levels, good comedy.
Me too
Amen to that
I'll second that
Gotta agree
Al
He says why are we soft in the middle now
Both in the field and the lineup
The rest of my life is so hard
I need the Cubs to succeed now
We want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a loser
In a loser graveyard
Nineteen Oh-eight Oh-eight
Dogs in the daylight
Far away my no-hit star
Mr. Beerbelly (You Hendry)
Get these chumps away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
If you'll bring a world title
I can be your lifelong pal
Al can run it better
And we'll sure all be happy
When you call on Al
A man walks to his seat
He says why'd I spend so much
Got no D or eye at the plate
And wo my nights are so long
Where's the cutoff man?
What if I die here
Who'll be the manager
Now that the manager is
Done Done
He ducked back down the standings
With some roly-poly little slick-glove man
All alone alone
There were incidents and accidents
There were hints and allegations
If you'll bring a world title
I can be your lifelong pal
Al can run it better
And we'll sure all be happy
When you call on Al
Call on Al
A man walks to his seat
It's a seat in a strange world
Maybe it's U.S. Cellular
Maybe it's his first time around
He doesn't speak the language
He sees no OBP
He is a hopeless man
He is surrounded by the mound
The mound
The mound of blown elbows
Tommy Johns and bad obliques
He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen! and O Wrigley!
If you'll bring a world title
I can be your lifelong pal
Al can run it better
And we'll sure all be happy
When you call on Al
Call on Al
Wow, a poem!
This miserable season will be over soon -- and then, we can spend the winter talking about how to fix this mess. And yes, it can be fixed.
I also
Two other notes. I haven't posted as much as I did earlier in the season. I just can't get into all the negative comments and I'm too dumb to turn off the TV and radio and quit on these Cubs. We all need a good season next year to bring back our Karma. Lastly, I was channel surfing and saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off was on....during the bar seen, the Cubs were on TV and Harry was doing play by play. Oh how I missed his voice, it was like an old friend. Here's hoping Al has some good reporting to do in the future, like Harry did in the playoff years. Thanks Al!
Thanks, Al!
Thanks Al
Improvements
Thanks Mr. Al
Hey, my pleasure.
For those of you who don't know what this is, it's an online simulation game where you choose a team from all of baseball history and they play a 154-game season. Fun!
