Diary of Bonds and Rose....

....IMHO Barry Bonds and his extremely overgrown cranium are about as worthy of cooperstown as a loin cloth from mark macguire.  oh wait a minute there are way too many similarities in this conversation.
Where do I even keep myself out of this topic????

People are starting so many unrelative diaries lately that it is completely unbelievable.  I completely understand that there is not a whole lot in the area of news at the current moment.. News is on the horizon hopefully.

I grew up a Cubs fan in a family of Reds fans.  Even though I always rooted for Chicago, I still wore #14 through sandlot, little league, high school, college and even still do when I play softball.  Rose should be in as a player.  His contributions to the game at that time were enormous.  Pete is the all-time major-league leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at bats (14,053), and outs (10328). He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of Year the Award, and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequalled five different positions (2B, LF, RF, 3B, and 1B).  Say what you will about his gambling as a manager but as a player I don't see how he can not be in the HOF.

As for Bonds, well, I have nothing good to say about him.  He's a cheater, a liar and from what I understand, a piece of crap as a person and a teammate.  I wouldn't cross the street to pee on him if he was on fire.  That's my opinion and I'm sure there are others that disagree but hey, that's your right.

Sorry, but you cannot differentiate player from manager. You cannot remove a segment of someone's baseball career.

Say what you will about his gambling as a manager but as a player I don't see how he can not be in the HOF.
Its really simply, actually. In every major and minor league clubhouse there are signs that expressly say that betting on major league baseball is illegal. Everyone in baseball knows that the penalty is being on baseball's ineligable list. According to HoF rules, those who are on the ineligable list, whether it happened as a player or manager are not eligable for HoF induction. It may be a procedural rule, but I for one am glad that its there.

I apoligize for my ignorance...
but what is this diary about?  Is it a knock on people who start weird diaries?

Pretty much......
....it has gotten so crazy lately that I find myself having a hard time even logging on.  I like to voice my opinion as much as the next guy (or gal), but there is usually a better place for someone's opinion, and that would be as a thread in another diary.

Also I accidentally posted it before I was finished.  I will add in the rest now.

Here's to a new year!!

Nevermind...
...I don't have the rest of what I had previously typed and don't care to make the effort to fix it.  This  diary can go onto the list of so many other pointless diaries that don't even deserve the attention of one individual.  I guess I caved into peer pressure and was trying to do the "in" thing:)
