OBD: Usurper Edition

Yes, I'm stealing the Off Base Diary from Julie today.  She told us we could on Saturday, so haha, I am.  Bring on the flaming.

In Stupid Mets Fans news, did you here about the guy who got banned?  Evidently posing as a reporter is a no-no, although how are they mad about him annoying Piazza, isn't that a good thing?

And for anyone out there with Restless Leg Syndrome you might want to be aware of the side effects of Requip.  Sure drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and dizziness are pretty much a given, but "pathological gambling and hypersexuality"?  Very nice.  Not just gambling, pathological gambling.

And my contribution to your useless information education is this site, Random Facts, because you need to know Kermit the Frog is left handed.

Of course I would be remiss if I did not share the Transformers Trailer with you all, the real site has more, but you know, watching it load is boring.

Happy Wednesday all.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Know what upsets me about the Transformers Movie?
The fact that, judging by the information available and the trailers, it's ultimately going to be about a largely human cast of characters and how they interact with the alien robots.

Bah.  It's been done.  See Independence Day.  See War of the Worlds.  See any other movie that has aliens coming to earth and wreaking havoc.

INSTEAD, the Transformers movie should be about the interplay between the two factions of robots...why the Autobots and the Decepticons are warring...the differing personalities (robot-alities?) of the robots...their interplay with eachother.

In an ideal world, humans would have a SUPPORTING role in any Transformers move...not the other way around.

All of this isn't to say that the movie won't be entertaining, because it likely will be everything a summer blockbuster is supposed to be.  However, I fear that it will go down in cinema history in the same breath as the afore-mentioned "aliens-come-to-earth-and-wreak-havoc" movies...instead of something much, much cooler.

there was someone who would go into the dorm, and walk in on girls taking a show, he did it to a girl on my floor, at like 7:00 am, opened the curtains to both the changing stall and the shower , grabbed her and said "Good Morning" and ran off

we got locks on the bathrooms and doors on the showers in about 18 hours

So, I'll give it the ol' college try. If you have a better and more thought-provoking question, feel free to call me names and introduce yours.

QOTD: What one sporting event would you most like to attend? This could be something in the past (a great game or event), or just overall.

For me, it would be a tie between The Masters or this year's upcoming NBA All-Star Game in Vegas. That is going to be so nuts, it's not even funny.
And of course, I'm sure most would say a Cubs World Series, so let's just put that as a given.

1991, Toronto
2003, the Cell

Fun times, all of them.

OK, Al...
I have about 33 years until I'm your current age.  I've gone to 10 games.  That means I have to go to 2090 to catch up to your current number.

That would be about 63 games per season to catch up to something around your total by the time I turn your age.

I seriously don't think I will ever go to that many games in one season.  Maybe if I ever get season tickets, but I don't see it happening.  I'm not that concerned with that though.  I like to watch baseball games from the comfort of my home(or someone else's).  I enjoy baseball either way.

If I really wanted to go to 63 games a year at some point in my life, I think I could. But for now my goal is to make it to at least one game each month of the season.

I got
season 2 for christmas, its awesome, lots of deleted scenes

"Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family"

keeping mediocrity at bay

Hahahahaha
GREAT quote!! I quote that one all the time.

I got season 2 as well.  The gag reel is great too.  Also, just to top off my nerdiness, the commentaries are really interesting.

"I forgot to tell you the plan for this Saturday: you, me, bar, beers, buzzed. Wings, shots, drunk. Waitresses, hot. Football, Cornell/Hofstra, slaughter. Then quick nap at my place, and we hit the tiz-own" - Annoying Andy

What else could anyone on this site answer to that question?

Get well soon
You seem to be sick more than your fair share.  I haven't been sick in about a year.  Not that I'm offering to take any of yours.

I'm not really sick,
just completely exhausted. Not sure why. Stress, probably. That or the excitement of spending all day Satuday with Faith. I can't decide.

I'm sure its the latter.
Just the thought of spending the whole day with him makes me exhausted.

It's an alarm clock!
And I will. Maybe I'll start letting you guys pick the scent/noise that I fall asleep/wake up too. If someone could figure out how to get Harry singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" on there, that would rock. I'm not so into the singing birds.
