We all know that Kerry Wood will be pitching out of the bullpen this season. He could really dominate and should, perhaps, go in the sixth inning to shut teams down.
Rich Hill, who many "experts" believe will be a great lefty starter this year, could end up like Wood one day, if he isn't careful. He throws very hard and may burn himself out by the trading deadline.
I propose that the Cubs put Hill in the bullpen during spring traning. Can you imagine a Cubs bullpen with Hill from the left side and Wuertz and Wood from the right? When you add Eyre, Howry, et. al., and Dempster, you get a stellar bullpen.
The rotation, by July 1, could be the following:
1. Zambrano 2. Prior (don't laugh at me) 3. Lilly 4. Miller (don't laugh) 5. Marquis (no laughing)
This is, of course, mere speculation, and I'm sure that someone out there has opinions about this.
