New York Cub Fans Meet-up

Hey all, I know some of you have met up before, I believe at a bar called Standings in the Village somewhere. I was just wondering if there will be a nice contingent of people watching the game somewhere on Wedensday for Game 1 v. 'zona.

Post your thoughts here. Let's try to get something going.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Maybe it would make sense
to have a permanent diary or section called "Regional BCB Meet-ups" or something like that.

That way, there wouldn't have to be a new diary for each region, and each separate meeting.

Why does everybody stand up and sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" when they're already there? ~Larry Anderson

I agree
and to answer your question, brokenland, I think that jessica was going to look at another place for us to go to. I could be wrong here. I have rehearsal this week as our show opens next week Wednesday, but the nice thing is that they're playing in AZ so the game probably won't start til 7 or 8 there. I'm all for meeting up with everyone Wednesday night here in NYC! Just lemme know when/where and I'll come if I can!

Can't make it up
Unfortunately I can't take off work to get to NYC.

Plus, we don't know if they're playing at 1PM or 5PM.  It will most likely be a 5PM game though since it's on the West Coast.

Hope everyone enjoys!

Wedensday
I live in Brooklyn so if nothing is decided here, I will probably just go to my local beer & grease fest for the game. If we do meet up in Manhattan, I would prefer downtown.

Neither time works for me!
I wouldn't get out til 10pm (EST) and would be able to catch the rest of the game if they started later. We'll have to wait and see after today's game to find out when the Cubs are playing.

I would prefer somewhere besides Standings
If you don't drink beer you are out of luck and it is kind of small (also we did LOSE the game we saw and Standings but I supposse I can't hold that against them)I  I will go if others want to. but,I think the Riveria which is the West Village might work. It is a Red Sox bar/restuarant but unless the two games are on at once they won't mind us taking over a large part of it. What do the rest of you think ?
I am still jet lagged from leaving Cincinatti at 6AM.

Also will be at Wrigley on Sat so only Wed and or Thursday
work for me

Since the games this Wed and Thurs are at 10pm
Is anyone still up for getting together somewhere and watching them together? I'm DEFINITELY in and I'd only miss about 15-20 mins of the beginning.

Otherwise, I'll go hit my usual sports bars.

Just discovered this!!!
Maybe you all know about this already, but I just googled Chicago Cubs Manhattan sports bars and got this link: http://cubs.meetup.com/cities/us/ny/new_york/?gj=sj40

Unfortunately, because of the STUPID firewalls at work, I can't sign up from here or find out if/where they're meeting Wed/Thurs nights. If anyone can let me know, that'd be great.

An option??
If Standings doesn't work, what do y'all think of going to ESPN Zone to watch the game?
