Cubs One Run Games

OK, stats lovers, let's see if you can answer these historical questions:

Star-divide

  1. What is the Cubs all time record in one run games?
  2. What is the Cubs all time record in one run games in which they were leading?  Leading after 7 innings?
  3.  Same as question one since 1945?
  4.  Same as question two since 1945?
Please note source of your stats in your replies please; thanks !!!

I'm not sure this data...
... is easily available. May I ask why you want to know?

re: I'm not sure this data...
My guess is he's intending this to be some sort of contest.

Why?
My brother asked me this morning, Al, and then I went hunting for the info.  He and I routinely spend a lot of time talking Cubs during the off season in what amounts to a personal hot stove league.  Frequently the discussion turns towards trying to frame the game currently in the context of historical performance.

As you quite correctly believe this is not readily available but I thought it would be worth asking here on BCB.  If anybody has this data my guess/hope is that it will be a regular here.

I think...
... in order to get this data, you'd have to go through every single game, at least before about the last few years where this data is readily available.

Big job. Don't have time myself. Anyone else?

I was hoping
that my newly discovered source of data would have something. sadly no. you would have to go through and compile year by year. That would be quite the chore.

Does Soriano's defense at 2B really cost more runs than in LF? He makes a lot fewer errors in LF since misplays and mental mistakes aren't figured into the stats, but I have to imagine that his mistakes are more physical at 2B. Any thoughts? Is there a statistic on this?
