Dueling headlines! Comissioner Gordon says that A-Rod to Cubs is possible. P-Sully says it's unlikely. To be frank, both of these articles say basically the same thing.
Hendry's refusing to comment on the situation currently, probably because he has a better grasp on the tampering rules than Dusty Baker does.
The Sullivan article has a lot of other tasty bits of info, and is well-worth a read. The buried lede: there are rumors that Kerry Wood wants to move back to the starting rotation.
Bruce Miles wanders into the same A-Rod waters, but he also gets some other juicy tidbits. It seems like the organization is content to have Theriot manning short next year. [I'm not sure I like that decision.] In good news, Miles officially links the Cubs to an interesting in Fukudome. Prior being nontendered and signed to a free agent contract is mentioned as an option, as is tendering him a contract. And the organization apparently views Hart as a Glendon Rusch-esque swing man for next year.
