Game of Shadows Movie

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/11/29/bc.bbn.bondsmovie.ap/index.html

HBO Films is planning on producing a film based on the book 'Game of Shadows'. It is to be directed by Ron Shelton (of Bull Durham fame) and written by Shelton and his writing partner John Norville.

Writing is set to commence once the writer's strike comes to an end.

I think this is very interesting to say the least. It also seems interesting that a man who seems to covet baseball is going to be charged with handling one of it's biggest black-eyes.

Of course they can.
Wonder who will play Bonds.

Oh, c'mon - be serious
This is a serious issue and the characters portrayed here have to be very realistic and believable.

With that in mind, we all know who the "before" Barry is:
http://www.cinefile.biz/fan2.jpg
I had a better picture but it showed him signing autographs, so I knew that wouldn't work.  Like I said, realistic and believable...

As for the "after" Barry, how about this former Met, Padre, Giant, Mariner, Red, Red Sox, Indian, and A:

My Apologies...
I didn't know this was a serious exercise.  Sorry about that.

Here's before and after in the same shot.

much better. thank you. ;-)
no doubt the man is going to get skewered no matter how this movie turns out, so at least let him go out with a little bit of dignity...

Great cartoon re Bonds
In the cartoon section of last Sunday's NY TIMES
( sorry I don't know what paper it originally ran in)
I can't do it justice because you really have to see it
but it shows the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade with HUGE
Bond's (bulked muscles mishapen head) aloft just in front of the Snoopy float. One person watching says to his friend " Why
would they have a float of steroid taking ballplayer" His friend responds " That is NOT a float"
Like I said you have to see it but it was hysterical

Couldn't find that one...
... but this one is similar, from Steve Breen of the San Diego Union-Tribune:

That's not to scale at all!
Look at how tiny that head is? Seriously, cartoonist, have you ever SEEN Barry Bonds? I write like a narcoleptic doctor, and I think I could do a better likeness of Barry than that.

Jim Memelo on Sports Central
was talking about this tonight.  He was playing the casting game.  I didn't get to hear the whole show, but I can't imagine who'll play Bonds.  Someone suggested LL Cool J, but ever since The Fan, I though Wesley Snipes could do it.
This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.

Better question:
Who plays Dusty Baker? Darrin Baker?
