Rowand sings for $60m

He signed a five year deal for $60m with the Giants.

Personally, I think that the cubs made a far better deal for Kosuke. One year less, 12m less, and I think Kosuke brings as much, if not more, to the table.

The Giants seems to be very good about putting together albatross contracts which they end up regretting.

I think this will be one of them.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great post! Okay, so with his old WhiteSox roots and the implied Journey preferences, should we expect his first performance to be "I want to go back to my Cit-AAAYYYY by the Baaaaaayyyyyy...."

Or is he replacing Wayne on Don't Forget the Lyrics?

Big deal
....come on already.  Are you a Captain for the Grammer Police.

If someone is going to bash that its only because you caught.

He's not
I am.  Your second line (I won't dignify it by calling it a sentence) is completely illiterate.

Questions are designated with a question mark at the end of a sentence.

It's spelled grammar.

You us the contraction "it's" when you are substituting for "it is."  "Its" is a possessive pronoun, such as "His, hers and its."

I sure hope you are still in the third grade, because that's about where your writing skills are.

One typo I missed on me
"You use" not "You us."  Bad!

I've actually got no problems with people making writing mistakes. I have a problem with people who don't give a damn about their writing.

Let He Who Is Without Sin
LOL...how do you 'us' a contraction? I was just about to offer you a job as a copy editor, too...tsk, tsk.

Seriously folks, Josh is right on.  I realize that writing is becoming a lost art, but it's not that hard to follow the basic rules of English.  I highly recommend the book, "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" for a very funny look at the state of our language in this day and age.

Since I left, I've always missed Chicago but never as much as I do right now!

I thought this had to do with
the Mitchell Report by the headline:

Now
I'm not much of a singer, but if it was worth $60M, I don't care if cats start to die, I'm gonna sing!

PLEASE RE-READ THE TITLE BEFORE YOU POST

Equivalent
I wonder what the equivalent of running head first into a brick wall is in the music business.  Maybe Rowand will do an album of covers of Leonard Cohen songs, but they'll all be duets with the cast of 'High School Musical'.  That might make some of Leonard Nimoy's 60's albums sound like Abbey Road.

Money down the drain
I understand some teams have a spend it or lose it mentality.  The Giants after getting rid of Bonds contract were itching to spend some money. I just don't see Rowand as being the answer to their problems. The could have gotten three players for the amount they spent on Rowand.  At least their huge outfield will mean less opportunity to run face-first into a wall.
