In any case, if you do wind up kissing him, we insist on photographic proof.

hard to say at this point
I'm 21, but technically still a sophomore, because I took a year off, so although I've declared my major (english) I still haven't gotten to the point where I can no longer switch majors. I prefer doing something like English or philosophy (I'm planning on taking the road much travelled for BCB posters and going to law school, so my undergrad major isn't too important), but I might end up switching to something I'm not really crazy about, like marketing, for a fallback.

I am definitely minoring in spanish, though. I'm pretty close to conversationally fluent at this point, and speaking Spanish makes me eminently more   appealing for prospective employers in this day and age.

Aside from the fact...
that I change my mind about what I want to do upwards of 3 times per week, I feel good about how I've positioned myself.

Honestly I wish I was better at math. My old man is a ph d chem engineer and I've always respected him a lot for that, and it's always been interesting to me. Upper level math courses like Calc BC, which I took my senior year of high school tend to kick my ass, though.

you may or may not have just consciously written that sentence grammatically correct. A lot of people try to conjugate in the subjunctive after "pienso que", but it's actually supposed to be left indicative. if you say "no pienso que" you use the subjunctive.

Most of the time
I focus on what sounds right.  I have a good grasp on the rules, but my profs always encouraged us to worry more about saying what you want rather than worry about the exact tense or word.  So, I judge everything by how it sounds.  I'm right about 95% of the time.

Maybe not like the one I posted above, but other ones.

I love French music
Let me introduce me to my guilty pleasure:  http://www.fnac.com.  I try to buy a new CD at least twice a year.

I actually like Patrick Bruel's earlier stuff, like his album "Alors Regarde"!  There's also a really fun artist out of Quebec named Garou.  I don't have him second album yet, but his first one, "Seul", is great.  He's got a wonderful duet with Celine Dion (who's French music is much better than her English stuff), and there's quite the diverse types of music.  If you get a chance, check out "Adieu" and "Que l'Amour est Violent".  And if you enjoy jazz, check out Patricia Kaas' "Carnets de Scene".  Tell you what, I'll burn some copies of my French CDs for you for BCB day.  I've probably got 10 different albums on CD.

option years
I've always felt this was the way it would go down, if it does. 5 years guaranteed and another 1-2 non-guaranteed ones to protect the club. no way would they guarantee 7 like Zito. Zito is durable. Not nearly as much risk there. Not saying 5 isn't risky. It most certainly is, but it seems obvious Hendry made up his mind a long time ago.

What are you talking about?
I love Z.

I'm just a flake is all.

:)

Seriously though.

No, Z is not my favorite Cub in the world, but he is a very good pitcher. And since the Cubs are in a position where they feel they HAVE to sign him lest legions of fans revolt, my hope is that the Cubs don't completely screw themselves over by giving Z too many guaranteed years.

This is already going to probably hurt us long-term, but perhaps the damage can be minimized. And who knows, maybe Carlos lives up to this big contract? I'm certainly hoping he does. And like I said previously, if and when Carlos signs I will be pulling for him as hard as any other Cub that I may or may not like a great deal.

And if he doesn't sign, I will pull for him like crazy until the day he walks.

I just want this team to be good. Now and down the road.
