Lou's first day

Team is already ready for him to blow

Star-divide

Worth noting that the New York Times wrote an interesting take on the new manager, including this:

"His tenure with the Cubs will likely produce the team's first World Series championship since 1908 or end in a historic meltdown. Such are the stakes when baseball's longest loser marries a man who so clearly hates to lose."

"There is talk in the Cubs' clubhouse that players are setting up a pool to bet on the date of Piniella's first outburst."

We should do that.

April 18th...
Top of the 4th inning.  Two outs.  Two on.  Lou goes apeshit.

HAHAHA
I'll go with May 18th against the Sox. It'll be warm by then and he'll show that he really gets us.

April or May?
Do people really think it will be the regular season before Lou explodes?

Hello? Isn't Aramis Ramirez coming to camp with this team?

I got March 24; Lou will want to rattle cages while the team is still in Arizona, to make a point.

First home game that the Cubs are trailing in.
He goes out to yell at the Ump in order to fire up his new team.

First St. Louis Cardinal Game
Lou knows the history between the Cubs and Cards, couple that with his friendship with La Russa.

Thats my bet

Of course im a CUBS FAN What other Chicago baseball team is there?

by Galvan316 on Feb 16, 2007 12:39 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I'll go with that too
Although I'd say on the last game of the first series with the Cardinals--Sunday, April 22.  LaRussa knows how to push buttons and won't hesitate if he thinks it will get him an advantage.

Cardinal/Cub series have been nasty enough in recent years.  Even Dusty lost it a few times in there.

I don't think Lou is "mellow".
Slightly toned down, probably.  I doubt we'll see him throwing bases around.  But "mellow" is pushing it, I think.  You get a guy like Lou on the field, and I think most of his true self will come out.

What's weird
is that we don' have anyone on the team who has played for Piniella in the past, despite him being an active manager for all but one year of the past fifteen.  Essentially, it means we have no former Devil Rays or Mariners on the team.

other than that to my knowledge there's just Miller Park and some bad smelling air.

Also a modern art museum. I don't much care for the art, but the museum's roof is designed to act like wings that open and close at intervals. It's a pretty cool building.

Allowed to pee, I meant
Oh, jumping?  Ugh.  That's why I don't like kids.  They can't just, you know, sit down and read a book.  They've got to jump, yell, ask a thousand questions, and completely put you out of your way.

Like I always say, leave a screaming child in the forest, and it will not survive.  How valuable can they really be if they can't even just stop crying, walk a little while, find some shelter and food, and then make it home.  Damn.

Those two towns
are the worst in west michigan.  A lot of crime and sadly, a lot of violence attricuted to gangs.  The scenery is great, but not worth it.  If your parents are looking for a place, I'd suggest either Grand haven, Clearwater, or Pentwater.  All great scenery and great towns.

Downtown Holland is good.  Lots of quaint little shops.  And an outlet mall on the outskirts of town.  And Grandville, near Grand Rapids has a really good mall.  The nice thing about the whole area is that there's a lot of shopping within about an hour of wherever you are.

She was wife material for sure.

Wake up, she'd make my bed
Day off, she would insist on driving wherever we went.
Gone to work, she'd leave me the cutest text messages
Get home, she'd make dinner
Before bed she'd rub my shoulders/back.

When I first started seeing her she scared the hell out of me, I came home one day and there she was. I was like, 'wtf'? Turns out she knew where my roommates and I hid the key as her roommates did so as well.

Only gripe was the weird music/movies and weird expressions. Other than that I could've married that girl and been set for life.

Ya think?  There is a reason he did want to go into the Mos Eisley Cantina in the original Star Wars.

Luke: Why don't you wait outside, Threepio, we don't want any trouble.

Threepio: I heartily agree with you, sir.
