BCB Game Get Together

Let's try this again.

Tickets go on sale Friday, and it we want to make the BCB game get-together a reality, we need to get our act together.

We are looking at the Saturday, June 16 date. That's a noon game against San Diego.

If you can or think you can attend, please post below. While I love you all, I don't need to know who can't come or why. We just need a count of how many people will be attending. Please don't clutter up this diary with stories of what you will be doing instead of attending the game on that date.

Then, based on the number of people attending, we are going to need volunteers to grab 6 tickets each for that game. No one is going to lose any money on this, because bleacher seats for a Saturday in June will be a snap to get rid of.

That said, post away. Email me with questions.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

Maybe
Put me down for going.  Also, I'm willing to try and get tickets on-line on Friday.  I can't go down to Wrigley, but will be able to try and buy them while at work (if I can get through).

I will...
... of course, be there (I already have a ticket for myself) -- and I will sign up to help buy tickets.

with my girlfriend, Kelly, and it will also be my daughter's first trip to Wrigley.   I will also try to buy two extra tickets this Friday to be used for fellow BCB friends....

I plan on going for sure.
As far as buying tickets goes, Friday is bad for me.  I may try to call on my lunch break, but don't count on me.  It's going to be a crazy day at work.

As I posted earlier
I will plan to be there for the game, and will try to purchase tickets this Friday.  However, I may bring other family members to the game, so I might not have 5 extras.  Will have to let everyone know later.

It might be possible to buy some tickets for other Saturday bleacher games and then swap a ticket broker for the June 16 game.

K then I'll try the VWR
and if I get some I'll buy as many as I can for that date.

It sucks that I live 3 hrs away and all but I just don't see myself getting back up to Chicago for a game.  Maybe if I still lived in Chicago, man I miss Chicago .

by cubsfan2883 on Feb 20, 2007 6:14 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You'll be able to sell them
In fact, I'll guarantee it.  Any bleacher tix for that day that you can't unload in this newsgroup, I'll buy, for your full cost: face value and fees.  But they have to be paper tickets, not etickets.

Al knows my "secret identity" and employer, and I've met several other people on this board.  I could post my email later if necessary.  But by all means, if you can order some tickets Friday to help the group out, please do so.

Note: This offer does not extend to others!

Cannot would have to take a train into Chicago
and the only one that can make it into a game that early is the 6 AM train leaving from Springfield and I'd be into Chicago by myself at like 10 AM. with nothing to do.  Not knowing downtown very well (as I grew up in the Suburbs and have only made the trip to Wrigley by car usually)  I'd be lost.  I just don't really know if it will be possible.  But I'll try to get tix for everyone else and maybe I'll just mail them out to people or give them to people in Central IL.

by cubsfan2883 on Feb 20, 2007 6:24 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You can go into Wrigley.
If the game starts at 12, you can get in at 10.  I'll probably be there at that time unless I can't get up.

I understand the trip is long and its early, but I would make it.  I woke up at 5 in the morning to go to the Cubs Convention on a Saturday, and I would've done the same thing the next day.  I just couldn't handle waking up that early two days in a row because it is difficult.

You know...
...I don't think I've ever seen that at the concession stands, so that might merit a trip to 7-11 beforehand. Or we could just stick with your choice of fine Pepsi-Cola products so I don't get disbarred, especially if you don't even like beer.

Atleast keep it off the internets
If he does plan on going through with it ;)

I turned 21 in the Bleachers back in September 2005, watching Big Z pitch a complete game in a 7-4 win over St Louis.  Very fun times, indeed.

Unfortunately, that was before I discovered BRB so I wasn't smart enough to have Al save me seats and was instead stuck in the third row of the upper section.  Oh well :)

Here's the thing. We discussed various summer dates. This seemed to be the one acceptable to MOST people. Maybe it's not perfect for everyone, and apparently it's not for santoforprez.

We never said this would be the ONLY gettogether. We hope to do more later in the year.

Our father's day game is the next day.  The day before is my wedding anniversary game (actual anniversary is the 20th).

Last year my husband got some video of my Dad, his Dad, him, my brothers and all the grandsons playing catch at Easter that year and going to a Cubs game a few weeks later and made a video for my Dad and my Father in Law to the Terry Cashman song "Passing it On From Father to Son"

Put me down
Put me down for the game and while I won't have much time on Friday to try and get tickets I will try during the time I have.

Here's a question will Kerry be celebrating his 30th birthday that day as a closer?

I have to go explore and get more info on the ticket ordering system.  We have season tickets so I never had had to worry but I will take some time tonight to familiarize myself with it so I don't get confused.

I know I'll be able to try for at least 2 hours on Friday.  Hopefully more depends on what I do in the afternoon at work.  I have to cover phones a lot on Friday afternoons and the computer there doesn't have net access.
