It appears...
I didn't get in, myself, although the "sorry" email says:
Most teams that have email lotteries like this do wind up doing "second chance" emails, so I (and any of the rest of you who didn't get them) may get another chance. Watch your inbox.
Agreed
I've been planning all along to make it to Chicago sometime this summer, I just didn't know when yet...I guess I need to make my decision before Thursday! (That, and find a way to get through to the Cubs ticketing server from work...)

Sanantonecub
nice!
Now I just have to decide if I want dugout or bullpen seats, and what game I'd like to go to.
I'm Out
section numbers?
The very first three rows
I dunno about pictures, but I'm sure you can imagine the view. If nothing else, take seatdata's and imagine yourself 15 rows closer.

Wow!
Yep
The best part was when the Cubs came back from the huge hole that Ryu dug them into - and Bobby Cox was literally standing two feet next to me on the other side of the wall. If there has ever been an opportunity to rub it right into the face of the opposing manager, that was it. And I took full advantage.
Dugout
I watched Bronson Arroyo pretty much shut down the Cubs for 8 innings in that game. It was late September, and the Cub players were already halfway into the offseason mentally, I think.

I'm in!
We had dugout box...
Still--incredible seats, screen or not. The kids got three balls from Brewers and the ball girl. We have the 10AM slot and will probably try to sit there again.
OK
I'm in again....
The irony is, I'm buying late in the season -- and still, I may not be able to make this trip to Chicago. (I already have tix for 2 Dodgers games in Sept) So, some lucky BCBer may have the chance to buy these tix from me if I cannot make the trip.

And, I might add, these were the seats
So, if you purchase these seats. Zip it! No talking!
The Cubs did rally to win that game, in extras.

Please stop by and say hi!
Great
You've got a deal!
I will
so, i've got 11:00
thanks
It works...
If you are going for a weekday value game, you should pretty much have your pick of tickets -- those will be the last games to go, and you'll get great seats at a (somewhat more) reasonable price.
great

Some hotels
question
prices
For a Cubs/Sox game?
I sold Game 7 NBA Playoff Tickets Spurs/Mavericks last year for $225 - face value was $40, I paid less then that. Of course, that was one of the greatest NBA playoff series of all time.
Go on any ticket resale site - you will undoubtedly see at least a few tickets in 4 digits for each game. Whether or not someone buys is a different story.

Exactly
I'm going to Wrigley!!!!
Yahoooooooo!
Sorry, you['re behind the screen
how much net is there?
by buckmulligan on Mar 15, 2007 5:07 PM CDT up reply actions
seat
The section to the left of there, which you referred to (with the plexiglass), is one I wanted to sit in. After some people left there during the final innings I asked the security guard if I could switch seats, and she said no. She said the seats in that section were reserved for guests of the team (which I guess means important people, not just people lucky enough to snag a ticket on the street before the game, as I did).
You're welcome
Question about the ticketing system
I got my confirmation email, but I doesn't say when the tickets will be mailed to me. Anybody know when the tickets go out? Will I get them before the season starts or a week or two before the game date of September 17th?
You may not...

Second Chance
Psyched to get in again - I try to do it once a year and it is always the highlight of the season.
Off to see Matsuzaka!
for those of you who frequent wrigley

What I've done is wait for people coming off the L at the Addison station. This can be tricky, however, since the cops look for this and will tell you to move along. They clearly get paid off from the scalpers, who are buying up spares to resell at inflated prices. To get around this, I've gone up to the platform to work the crowd. There's also minions from the scalpers up there, but rarely a cop. The difference between me just looking for one and the scalpers gophers is very, very obvious and people who hate scalpers are happy to sell their extra at face.
Another source for tickets is along Clark, where several of the bars have a bunch of season tickets and will send someone outside to dump the extras to people passing by. This is especially good for weekday day games, where a reasonable offer below face is usually good.
The biggest no-no is transacting business on the actual block Wrigley sits on. If you work that crowd, you have to be very discreet and then go over to the 7-11 to do the deal. And most people with extras have dumped them before they get there anyway, since they can't let people know without getting busted. That's why I like the L.
