Opening Day
Is anyone else going to Opening Day in Cincy?
I've landed four tickets 12 rows back of the Reds dugout. Great seats, but wrong side of the field. I am coming out of my skin waiting for the day to arrive. I've never been to an Opening Day, and from what I hear Cincy organizes one of the best.
I know Bush was there last year to throw out the first pitch, has anyone heard who will be there this year?
I'm like a kid counting down the days and hours until Christmas morning! Lets play ball.

Dusty Baker is one of the commentators...
ahh...
And to think, I was actually upset that I forgot to set the tivo to record it today. I don't feel so bad about it now.

Geez
I immediately started to think there was a big trade or Zambrano was signed.
Reaction to Lou
Was that fight with Dibble in the club house his last season in Cincy?
It would be fun to be in Cincy...
This year....
Dick Cheney will be throwing out the first pitch.
He assured me that the Reds will welcome us as liberators.
And remember
Reds
The starting lineup
J Pierre CF
R Cedeno 2B
A Ramirez 3B
J Jones RF
M Murton LF
S Moore 1B
C Izturis SS
H Blanco C
J Mateo P
While some of those players are still on the team, I'm thinking this year's lineup is quite a bit better than that one.
Two years in a row
Since our President, George W. Bush was there last year there were a few changes. The park openned FOUR hours early for security. When you entered the park, there was the normal bag search, but then the US Secret Service were there with airport-style metal detectors you had to pass through. The Secret Service would not let fans bring baseballs into the park for security reasons. (SS agent: "I am sorry no baseballs are allowed into the park today." 16 year old daughter: "Then how are they going to play baseball?") After we were not arrested (thankfully) the SS explained that people could put a small bomb into the ball and throw it at the President.
Many of the Cubs players came over to sign. However, the next series in Cincy there was a rainy day where no one took Batting Practice and at least 15 players came over to sign.

Gates open
By the way
I also viewed a new "party" suite that is mid-construction and it looks awesome.
I don't know if it's Castellini's influence or what, but it seems like they are making some great upgrades.
I'm so excited for Monday!!!
I went last year,
