Baseball in Vegas

It was really a great night for baseball. Most of the fans attending the game tonight were Cub fans, of course. That's usually the way it is for all the baseball games in Vegas. You could really see on everyone's faces tonight how excited they were to be at a Major League game.

The offense was really rolling tonight. I loved watching it first-hand. It was nice to see the Cubs manufacture a run in the 1st inning. Of course after that we had the home runs by Barrett and Ramirez and Lee's triple.

I had some great seats tonight. They were 2nd row down the first base line, right behind where the pitchers were warming up.

Will Ohman was hilarious. He was chatting it up with all the fans in the area, especially all the kids. He asked one kid if he was a Cubs fan and the boy shrugged his shoulders. Will looked stunned at the response. Will said, "If I give you this bat, will you be a Cubs fan?" The little boy couldn't believe it. His Dad shouted, "Say yes!" The little boy grabbed the bat and ran to his Dad and yelled "Thanks Will!" I didn't really know much about Ohman before tonight, but I was really impressed with his attitude and kindness to the fans.

Fun game.
My wife, a friend from law school, and I came out to attend the Vegas games for the second year in a row.  These are really fun games, and it was great to see the Cubs' offense firing on all cylinders last night.

I took some pictures of the game last night, but I'll have to wait until I get home middle of next week to see what comes out.  We're going to today's game, though, and I suspect those pictures will be better.  If no one minds the slow turnaround, maybe I can post some pictures next week.

Does that mean...
... you took non-digital photos? Or that you just don't have any way of uploading digital photos?

The latter.
I don't have any way of uploading digital photos.  I could use a cable to get them off the camera, but I don't have the cable with me (I don't normally use the cable, because it's much slower than using a card reader).  Plus, I shoot in RAW format, so the pictures need some post-processing before they look right, and I don't have the appropriate software on my work laptop, which is the only computer I have with me.

Got it.
Well, I look forward to seeing your pics when you get back!

By the way...
I went to today's game and met the kid and dad who Will Ohman gave the bat to last night--apparently, the bat was the broken one that Aramis Ramirez broke hitting his home run.

Got some good pictures before the game today during warmups, too.  I'll post those later (hopefully, later this week).
