Cliff Notes version as its late and I want to go to bed.
Sacramento 11 - Iowa 8
Pitching Notes: Sean Marshall had perhaps his worst start of the season, but nothing awful. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, 4 walks ane 6 Ks. Ben Howard imploded over his 2 innings, giving up 6 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. Howard gave up 2 HRs, then Federico Baez came in to relieve Howard in the 8th. The two inherited runners he was given the honor of dealing with scored on a grand slam by Hiram Bocachica.
Hitting Notes: E. Pat went 3-4 with a solo HR and 3 runs scored. Mike Kincade went 2-5 and also hit a solo HR. Felix went 3-5 with a 3B, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Michael Fontenot went 2-4 with a BB. The loss put an end to Iowa's 8 game winning streak.
Tennessee 10 - Chattenooga 3
Pitching Notes: This was an interesting one as 12 of the 13 runs were scored in the first two innings, including a 9 run bottom of the second for the Smokies. Justin Berg started and only lasted 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 1 hit and 5 walks. Paul Schappert got the win, throwing 4 innings of 1 run relief.
Hitting Notes: Leadoff man Sam Fuld went 3-5 with a 2B and 2 runs scored. Casey McGehee went 1-3 with a walk and a 3 run HR. Josh Kroger went 2-4 with a 2B and 3 RBIs. Jake Fox played 1B and went 0-4 with 3Ks.
Daytona 9 - Lakeland 7
Pitching Notes: Scott Taylor gutted out 6 really mediocre innings, allowing 7 runs on 13 hits including 2 HRs. Scott Korber allowed 1 hit over 3 scoreless innings to finish up the game.
Hitting Notes: Leadoff man Chris Amador went 2-5, scoring 2 runs. Matt Matulia went 2-4 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Jesus Valdez went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a walk. 3B Kyle Reynolds went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Tyler Colvin went 1-4 with a double and 3 RBIs.
