Iowa 6 - New Orleans 5

  • Pitching Notes: Les Walrond managed to get through a 3 run first inning and notched his third win of the season. He threw 6 innings surrendering 4 earned runs, 8 hits 1 walk, while striking out 5. Ben Howard gave up a run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Clay Rapada gave up 1 hit and struck out 2 in 1.2 scoreless innings.
  • Hitting Notes: Eric Patterson had a great night, going 4-5, scoring 2 runs and driving in 1. Buck Coats went 2-4 with a walk and an RBI. Koyie Hill went 2-5 with a walk and an RBI. Geovany Soto wetn 1-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI.
  • Tennessee 1 - Birmingham 0
  • Pitching Notes: Donnie Veal had his first dominat outing of the year, pitching 7 shut-out innings, surrendering 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Jim Henderson and Geoffrey Jones each pitched an inning of hitless relief.
  • Hitting Notes: Jorge Cortes went 3-3 with a double. Josh Kroger (1-4) scored the only run on the game with the RBI going to Matt Craig.
  • Tampa 6 - Daytona 3
  • Pitching Notes: Todd Blackford surrendered 3 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. Scott Korber picked up the loss, giving up 3 earned runs in 2.1 innings.
  • Hitting Notes: Alberto Garcia went 4-4 with an RBI. Jesus Valdez went 2-4 with an RBI. Tyler Colvin went 1-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
  • Ft. Wayne 3 - Peoria 2
  • Pitching Notes: Jose Ceda had a rough go, only lasting 1.2 innings, giving up all 3 runs on 1 hit. Unfortunately there were 6 walks that went along with that one hit. Solid relief tonight first by Jeremy Papelbon who threw 3.1 innings, giving up 2 hits, 2 walks while striking out 1. Charlie Platt threw another 3 scoreless innings.
