Good.
It helps him get healthy, while allowing us to free up the roster spot.

Brother.
Can anything else go wrong?

ARam is very injury prone and he's still young.

by lemon20pie on Jun 11, 2007 6:39 PM CDT reply actions

Big picture
While ARam is on the DL and Derosa is playing 3B, if Fontenot continues to do well as he has in AAA and his most recent call up, I think the Cubs should send Murton down to AAA and use Derosa as a super sub and play him in RF against Lefties.

by lemon20pie on Jun 11, 2007 6:42 PM CDT reply actions

Why
Because he hasn't had any at-bats? God damn fans are fickle.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 11, 2007 6:52 PM CDT reply actions

I'm not fickle......
I didn't like him much to begin with.
RAMIREZ!! PRIOR!!

by PriorandAramisfan23 on Jun 11, 2007 6:53 PM CDT up reply actions

Fair enough.
It just seems like everyone was prazing him as "the future of the organization" and now a lot of people want him gone. He hasn't done anything wrong in my opinion, mostly because he hasn't had a chance to do anything.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 11, 2007 6:56 PM CDT up reply actions

In that case "Everyone"........
need to just take things for what they are and not what they hope for them to be. Murton is the perfect example......he got called up, didn't completely suck, Cub fans got overly excited and all of a sudden instead of merely being a decent player.....Murton is an all star OF capable of hitting 30 HR's a year. It happens with every prospect.
RAMIREZ!! PRIOR!!

by PriorandAramisfan23 on Jun 11, 2007 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Yup
I know, and that's what I'm saying.

However, I do believe Murton has a lot of upside, but he needs to get bigger to get more power. Right now the power isn't there, but that doesn;t mean we should trade him.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 11, 2007 7:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Pagan is Much much much much
more valuable to this team than Murton. It's that simple Dewshbag. When Aram comes back, one of them will have to go. YOu can't have 6 OutFielders. Pagan can play in CF against lefties and Derosa in RF. Has zero to do with being fickle and everything to do with common baseball sense.

Are you saying you would rather keep the 1 (is he even 1 dimensional?) Dimensional Murton over Pagan?

Also, if you want to reply to someones post, hit "reply to post" under the posters username...K?

by lemon20pie on Jun 11, 2007 7:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Dewshbag?
And what did I do to deserve your wrath?

So were going with name calling now. Ok, Ass-hole, you misspelled "douchebag".

Pagan is good, and I like him, but he's hit his ceiling. Murton, meanwhile, is pretty much upside, and could possibly become a Nomar style hitter. Why do I say that? Because I watch him, and I listen to scouts and experts. Murton has hardly tapped his potential.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 11, 2007 7:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Oh, and by the way,
I did hit "reply to post", moron. Get some glasses.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 11, 2007 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions

agreed about pagan.
murton is expendable. time is coming to invent a back injury and send him to the dl.
I don't care about a world series, just be competitive thru September.

by buckmulligan on Jun 12, 2007 12:28 PM CDT up reply actions

No need for that...
if you don't want him on the major league roster, he can be sent to AAA.  He has options.  I'd argue that if we can find a suitable RH pinch hitting option, he's better suited learning RF and playing everyday in AAA.

by SouthernCub on Jun 12, 2007 3:00 PM CDT up reply actions

Might as well.
If he's not going to play send him down to work out in right field, and try to improve his power.

by Snake Plissken on Jun 12, 2007 3:43 PM CDT up reply actions

send murton out
trade izzy, derosa to right, fontenot to third, theriot at short, and e-patt at second...  Howabout it?
PIE!!! GALLAGHER!!! AND THE OTHER YOUNGSTERS!!!

no thanks
too many slap hitters for me.  I'd prefer to play Floyd in RF or pursue other trade options.
Quade!

woulda,coulda,shoulda!!!
another painful loss for the cubs.we invent new ways to lose games!!again barrett can't hold on to the ball to tag the runner out at the plate.the guy is a liability and i would shop his sorry ass in a heartbeat!!!good riddance!!another baserunning error as well by pagan.we are playing baseball here people not trying to figure out a calculus problem for God's sake!oh,did i mention the bases loaded with no outs and we can't score!amazing eh!again in the last at bat we load the bases with a chance to tie and well.....!!lolyou guessed it!nadda!i feel better now!good teams find ways to win and bad teams find ways to lose!!!
