The Cubs will have a chance when Hendry is gone

Stay connected for news and updates

Until this organization has a GM that understands the nuances of putting a competitive team together, you will continue to get the same garbage on the field.

Michael Barrett is a very bad catcher, and he was bad before Hendry sought him out, and he is bad now.  It is beyond belief, that a major league GM, would devalue such an important position on a club.  The same stuff, just keeps coming up and biting them in the rear, and has cost them in other ways, that were not as obvious.

Now, for J. Jones.  Why did Hendry not lower his price tag and pedal him in the offseason?  He had some value with 27 homers and 80 RBI's, but now, he has none.  If the market is not willing to pay your price, you adjust, and don't go into the season with 17 outfielders who all play LF.

This team will continue to tease you all season.  They will stay in the race because the division is putrid.  Don't be fooled by it, this club is a blockbuster away from winning a crappy division, and look who we have manning the switch.

I am fed up with incompetence in the front office, and it is 99% of the reason this club has failed to be a consistant competitor with top shelf resources.  it's really sad, that loyal Cub fans have had to watch other clubs do better in; scouting, player development, drafting, FA signings, and most importantly, roster construction.  But, what the hell, let's just blame it on whoever is managing.
