Interesting Rich Hill note
This is from the "Roto Arcade: Lockdown" article by Andy Behrens which I get at through our Fantasy Baseball page:
Rich Hill has allowed 32 earned runs this season, and the San Diego Padres, the team with the lowest batting average (.244) in the National League, have scored 10 of them. He gave up five earned runs in three innings on Sunday. Bob Brenly suggested that Hill might be tipping his pitches, and the Padres have caught on. Or maybe Greg Maddux caught on last year, and brought some helpful scouting information with him to San Diego. Mike Cameron is 4-for-5 against Hill this season with 4 HR and 5 RBI.That crafty Maddux...

Yes, it has been discussed elsewhere.

On Maddux
Mind you, I am not suggesting that Maddux, if he saw a new give-away from Hill should contact his former teammate and not help his current team. However, if was a ML pitcher, and found out that a current teammate had picked up on something in my delivery, and not let me know, and instead kept that info until it would be useful to use against me... Well, that ex-teammate could expect a fast ball in the earhole, and again, I don't think Maddux would stoop that low.

Keep in mind...
Hill was sent to Iowa and recalled July 27, only four days before Maddux was traded.

It's entirely possible

Maddux does not go through 3rd parties.
Maddux had helped him and the other young pitcher last year.He did not need Rothschild to commincate to them. I would not doubt that Maddux would give his teamates any helpful info he could but I am sure he not deliberately screw Hill last year.

Oops...
I was just shocked to find that about 1/3 of his runs were given up to just one team. I wasn't around for yesterday's game but when I saw the highlights of Cameron's home run to center field off of one of those big curves my first thought was "I wonder if he knew that was coming?" (and half of Cameron's 8 HRs this year were hit with Rich Hill pitching).
I guess we'll know more as the season goes on -- maybe he's just hitting a bump in the road, or his mechanics are off, or it was just a fluke. But if they did know what was coming when he's pitching, I wonder if they'd try to keep it a secret?

I was just being a dick....
Like I said in another thread, even if Hill was tipping his pitches, it wouldn't have mattered, because he had nothing Sunday. If his curve is working and has good break on it, it's hard to square up even if you are looking for it.
I know the two were close last year and they were always talking on the bench between starts and I'm sure Greg gave him pointers and tips etc. and it could be just the mere presence of Maddux in the other dugout, got into Hill's head.
