Sheets to the DL

I have to say that this has been long overdue. This article http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=633464 says Sheets could be out as little as 2 or 3 starts, or as much as 6 weeks. If it's the longer time period, I'd have to think the Brewers make a deal for some pitching. It'll be interesting to see who, if anyone, they go after. In any case this should be prime time for the Cubs to make up some ground.

brewers
dont have to make a deal for any pitching, they have one of the games best 3 pitching prospects who can come in and replace Sheets in Yovani Gallardo

they're a good team and will continue to be a good team. The Sheets loss is certainly one that hurts them, but lets not write them off. They have great depth within their organization and can afford to find replacements from within

gallardos fine
but dave bush struggling, capuano struggling, vargas is garbage and suppan is suppan, nothing special.

nothing scares you at all about that staff, and even if a rookies got all the talent in the world, hes still a rookie, look at homer bailey this year.

Bush
sub 3 ERA over his last 5 starts isn't really struggling

Yes Vargas and Suppan arent anything special but neither are Marshall and Marquis on our end

Both teams have their flaws and both teams have shown extended streaks of playing very good baseball

the Sheets injury wont cripple them is all i'm suggesting

no faith
in dave bush.  despite awesome peripherals the last two, and now three years, his era never catches up.  throwing so many strikes just seems to catch up to him when hes facing a good offense.  if sheets is out all year, i definitely see that as crippling to the brew crew without a staff ace, and ive seen a few people say this kind of injury could turn out to be a lot worse than just 2-3 starts.

Yovani Gallardo
If he plays well enough this year, I see the Brewers trading away (Capuano?) pitching this off season
Los Cachorros!
