This is simply amazing, the Cubs were 13-29 if you take out the one winning streak of 9-2 in late April/early May and then after June 2nd the Cubs are 28-13----meaning that if they win tomorrow it will be an exact turn around.
Baseball is about numbers and outside that winning period of late April early May the Cubs played .309 baseball and since June 2nd they are playing .683 baseball, the best in MLB since that point....
One major roster change; Barrett for Bowen...other changes are Marshall coming off DL to assume a position inthe rotation now leading the ERA of the starters, but is he really that big of an impact? Pie has been up and down twice, Fontenot had a great offensive June, Pagan has played okay, Marmol has done well but also the Cubs have had injuries to core performers;
Blanco, Ramirez, Floyd, Dempster, now Lee possibly Ward and Floyd again and yet the Cubs continue to win at almost a .700 clip.
In short the Cubs have esponged the personality of Baker and adopted the personality of Piniella, playing baseball at the highest level to win the ball game.
This is really something.
