Ultimate 7th Inning Stretch Competition
I am curious if anyone else entered this contest on Cubs.com. It's hard to find the link to it now because they moved it off the front page of the website, but you can find it under sweepstakes. It's the chance for a fan to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame at the September 22nd game.
I got an e mail on Thursday stating that I had been picked to audition! I am so excited I can't sleep at night and I sing it nonstop! I am guessing there are hundreds of people that are receiving the same opprotunity. Anyone on BCB get an e mail yet?
This is Super cool! What an awesome once in a life time chance to honor Harry, the Cubs, and Wrigley! And this is why I am more than happy to make the three hour trip from Canton, IL.
They say the parking lot 2 blocks north of Wrigley will be open free for participants in the contest this coming Thurs and Fri. My question for all you Chicago natives is how hard is it to manuever around Wrigley on a day with no ball game? I have to be there by 2pm to check in. I am contemplating just driving all the way in instead of doing a park and ride deal with the train.
I have a good idea of how I am going to approach the singing, but if anyone has an idea for how to make my presentation pop, please pass it on to me. It says no props or instruments, so keep that in mind as well. Thanks and wish me luck!

And just maybe....
get some people to sing that: A) are hopefully Cub fans or atleast good baseball fans that can carry on a decent interview afterwards. B)that know the words for God's sake. C)appreciate the man and the history that created such a great tradition. It is a part of what makes the Cubs and Wrigley different form all the teams and ballparks around.

I think...
they should involve fans like the ones here. Maybe something similar to the Heart of a Cubs fan contest or something. Kind of like seeing the 3 millionth fan last year. Something that gets more people involved, and hopefully true fans.
