Barry cheated

According to this link http://tinyurl.com/3ae3mm a Giants fan created a program that voted automatically for Barry. Not only does he have to cheat for HR's but now to make the All star starting team. I hope MLB does something about the cheating that occured in the voting.

Much as I dislike Bonds...
... the title of this diary isn't quite right. Barry didn't cheat, a Giants fan did. Supposedly anyone who did this was supposed to have all his votes cancelled, but who knows.

You beat me to the punch...
I was about to say the same thing.  Bonds isn't a likable guy, but he didn't do anything wrong in the voting process.

I thought
that only happened in Florida.

When the Giants play at Wrigley.....
if Bonds is going for the record those days (he probably won't play; they want him to break it in San Fran) and hits either the tying or record-breaking home run, I have a little request of people sitting in the bleachers.  Everyone bring a ball with you to the game.  Then we can still make a show of throwing back the home run ball without the lucky fan who gets it having to part with it.  Hypocritical?  Of course.  But you have to admit, it would be beautiful thing for Bonds' record-breaking home run to get rejected by the fans and tossed back on the field.

The Giants...
... have a 3-game series vs. the Dodgers at home after the ASB, then go on a 7-game trip to play the Cubs and Brewers. I can't imagine, if he gets within 2 or 3 before that trip, that they could justify sitting him for a week, unless they invent a fake injury.

Don't kid yourself
I bet the majority of balls thrown back aren't the actual home run ball already.

But what would be really cool is for every bleacher bum to bring a ball in and EVERYONE throw their ball out if Barry hits a home run - game would surely be delayed as they have to clear 2,000 baseballs off the field, and it's slightly more classy then trash.

That would be mean.
I think he's nicer than people give him credit for. Or maybe I'm the one that's too blind.

This is just further reason why I
Call for the elimination of the fan vote alltogether for starting lineups.  One or two "final votes" is fine because honestly, those players don't matter very much and chances are they might get in anyway when a chosen player turns down the invititation.  But the All Star Game in its current format means TOO MUCH to let the fans have such a powerful vote, especially when there is no real mechanism in place to stop an individual from voting as much as he wants.
