Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Best laid plans

Bought two tickets to every Smokies game this week only to be diagnosed with vertigo the day of the first game - went anyway for about four innings but had to leave because the park kept spinning on me.

Veal pitched last night and I was sorry to miss him. The performance in box score looked good and it would have been good to get some footage of him. Spearman who had a good night the first game this week ended last night's extra inning contest with a 3 run shot in the top of the 12th.

If I feel up to it tonight I'll get back out there and see if Samardzija starts.

I feel you, man
I had 13 (!!!) vertigo atacks within the span of fourth months in 2005. Violent, nausea filled five hours episodes of fun. One time I was on the record in court when it happened.

Anyway, if you haven't found out already, they likely won't be able to tell you why. Certain things work for different people. For me, I found that strong sinus and/or allergy medicine helped because it dried up everything. Before I settled on that, I would get attacks WHILE I was on the Antivert and Valium I was prescribed. Unless there's some other medical reason you can't, think about checking out something like Claritin D or any generic medicine that has Loratadine (Claritin) in it. Also, the type of Tylenol Allergy Medicine that requires you now to get it from behind the counter (forgot the exact name) worked too. If you want to go holistic for an extended time, try a combination of ginger ang gingko biloba at least twice a day, a couple of pills of each.

I can relate
I have Minier's, which as a symptom has boughts of vertigo so bad that I hurl myself dry and sometimes spend up to 6-8 hours in bed. I am sodium restricted now and seems to help. Ever tried to go low sodium? Eating is barely worth it. Getting a footlong at Wrigley is tempting fate.

Oh man
Miniere's? (or however it's spelled). I'm so sorry. Seriously, virtual man-hug from me to you wherever you are.

Doctor has be on meclizine (Antivert)
and it's helping some. I made the mistake of nodding yes to someone yesterday which put me into a state of a virtual tumble down a hill and almost out of my chair.

My doctor hasn't ruled anything out yet, including Ménière disease, but we're hoping for one of the tamer diagnosis. My mother has inner ear issues, and my son has ear sensitivity so there's enough evidence there to be concerned.

Regardless of the world continually shifing on me, I'm going to try to get out to the last game tonight since I've wasted three other nights so far. Samardzija hasn't pitched yet so I figure he might be due tonight.
