1060 West
Does the bell toll now for 1060 West?
I stopped by 1060 West this evening to find that the site had declared itself dead. It may be moving towards a moderated format. I'm having trouble reading between the lines as to what exactly is going on there. I guess we'll know in a few days whether 1060 West comes back or not.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of SB Nation or Al Yellon, managing editor (unless it's a FanPost posted by Al). FanPost opinions are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable baseball fans.

The way is shut...
Seriously. The Cubs are doing reasonably well. Zambrano is locked up long-term. The Trib is selling. Not a whole lot of bad stuff for them to write about right now.
Sorry ole boy
I am thrilled by the Cubs season to date. I really like the 2007 club and Piniella. They have really surprised me and I am happy for that. Contrary to popular opinion we are Cub fans.
What's going on at 1060 has nothing to do with what's going on on the field, and that is the problem.
Sorry Al for using this space to say that. I hope all is well.

I don't go there often...
The extremely misanthropic Kurt has a talent for destroying an entire thread with a single homopobic, hate-filled, religious polemic. This guy is one of the most unsavory characters I have ever come across, both in real life, and on the internet. It's sad that people like him exist (although he is a good source of humor). His working principle is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Apparently, he's now trying to threaten physical violence toward other members of the Cubs blogosphere. Leave it to the completely batshit insane to use baseball blogs as a pulpit for their holy rolling drivel.
Let it be known that this internet tough guy sends private emails that are reportedly "tear-filled".
Sorry I missed

not too important
It still doesn't take away from the jist of my post, that being that Kurt is fucking crazy.
Couldn't the crazies be blocked?
Not my cup of tea. I assume that a blog host can block some posters but maybe that was what was meant by changing to
moderated.
I do know the old Cubs Yahoo group got destroyed by stuff that was mostly totally unrelated to the Cubs. Many years ago that is where many of us started.
