ESPN's All-Time Gold Glove team

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but ESPN has article on the All-Time Gold Glove team (voted on by the fans) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2985977. I think if ESPN's experts/writers voted, the results may've been somewhat different.  Sandberg was beaten out by none other than our old buddy, Joe Morgan.  Not exactly sure why, as Morgan only won 5 gold gloves.  In addition to Sandberg, I think I'd rate Frank White higher than Morgan, too.

That %#%#%@!!!...
is never going to shut up now. How he beat out Sandberg and Alomar both is totally beyond me.

Yeah that's a joke
Alomar was the best and Sandberg was better than Morgan.

Joe Morgan campaigns.
Sandberg and Alomar don't have to. Their numbers speak for themselves. ESPN can try to revise history all they want, but the fact remains that RYNE SANDBERG IS THE BEST DEFENSIVE 2B OF ALL TIME and he's probably a better analyst than Morgan, too.

A better analyst than Morgan?
That's not saying much is it?  The tires on my car could do a better job analyzing a game than he does.

LOL
I was just making the point that there's nothing Joe Morgan did that Sandberg (and Alomar, for that matter) didn't do better.

I could scream
I was so mad to see Joe Morgan on the list now he has more stuff to toot his own horn about. At least he won't have to make up stories that never happened and he just tell us how he is the greatest defensive 2B of all time. What a joke!!
you don't want me on that wall, you need me on that wall.

Hawk and DJ railed on list today
during Sox game saying Robbie Alomar of Clev then Mets, Sox (?) was best ever at position...comparing apples to oranges.

Keith Hernandez set the standard at 1B, not Wes Parker.

Interesting/fun exercise but no good way to measure defense, historically...Clemente, Mays were obvious but acc to Hawk there might have been better defensive catchers than Bench, too.

ESPN
did NOT give out these awards.  They only reported the story.  These awards were given out by Rawlings, who gives out all the Gold Gloves.

This was a fan vote, which means any idiot who wants to cast a ballot can.  On the other hand, the fans didn't give a Gold Glove to a DH like the managers and coaches did with Rafael Palmeiro a few years ago.
