Imagine four games during the pennant run......

where you have NO IDEA what's going on with the Cubs. That's what happened to me these past three - almost four days. You see, it was Rosh Hashanah starting at Wednesday sundown, and me being a religious Jew I had no access to Radio, TV, newspaper, or internet. So, needless to say, being a Cubs fan, I was worried and expecting the worst. The fact that I live in New York means nobody knows what happened to the Cubs even if you asked a non-Jew. Was I pleasantly surprised to see the good news! I went online during the 2nd game of the DH and was SHOCKED to see them up by two games over Milwaukee, (at the time, the games were still going on) and a loud "Woo-Hoo!" could be all the way down the street. So if you think you had it tough with a couple of nearly-blown saves, think of me, the Cubs fan in the dark over 4, amost 5 games. Btw, the same will happen this weekend, with Friday Night and Saturday being Yom Kippur, and it happens almost every Saturday, unless I happen to get my hands on a newspaper.

Shanah Tovah to all MOTs, and here's to a Cubs WS pennant in 5768. (that means 2007.)

It May Be Better
...not to know right now.  It's almost like the holidays did you a favor.

I'd kind of like to just fast forward to the last weekend of the season and do the last three games, but then we'd be deprived of all of the anxiety.

Hmmm.
As a not so religious Jew, I applaud your dedication. I wonder if Yom Kippur will bring the same sorts of victories!

Um why four games?
Being an unreligious Jew myself I thought it would only
be Wed Night that you would miss with sundown to sun up
Wed-Thursday.

Anyway hope we can find away to all get together per the diary post above.

PS the nice Jewish boy did good today.

Wednesday-Saturday
Rosh Hashanah started at Sundown Wednesday, which means no game on Wednesday for me. Thursday was Rosh Hashanah, as was Friday. The Holiday ended at nightfall Friday, but by that time the Sabbath had already begun, which meant no game for me on Friday night and Saturday. I did catch the end of the 2nd game of the DH though.

Yeah, Marquis did good. Must've been his new year's resolution.
