Reds Protest Denied
While browsing the Reds site for tickets for the Cubs final games there I noticed that they have had their protest denied by MLB. A short, and I do mean short article can be found not quite detailing it here.
Pretty glad this was not upheld, as the reason for the protest was absolutley ridiculous. Rick Reed, the umpire of the game said himself that they had no grounds for the protest, and it was pretty clear aftewards that it was a stupid thing for them to do.
Also, is anyone clear on the rule about having to pay $25,000 to protest and why the Reds were waived this fee? Especially in a case where their protest seemed so stupid I was wondering why they weren't required to pay. As BB said, if he didn't have to pay, he would have just protested everything!
Now, let's go Atlanta!
