Virtual Waiting Room Tips & Tricks
So ... I am hearing conflicting stories about the virtual waiting room and tips/tricks associated with getting past the doorman and into the promised land. There are three predominant schools of thought.
1.) Open up as many windows as you possibly can without crashing your browser. When the "wait" is up, you have that many chances to get in.
2.) Just keep hitting refresh because the "waiting room" is less of a waiting room and more of a traffic control.
3.) Get there are close to 8:30:00 A.M. as possible, as the order is first-come, first-serve.
The first two assume a sort of a randomness. The third option assumes that they actually reward punctuality.
Either way, we probably all have about five minutes to make this work on Sunday morning. For my part, I know that I'll have two computers and three cell phones fired up and ready to rock and roll.
So, anyone else care to share -- or you wanna hog the information for yourself? I'll offer my first 100% sure-fire tip in the comments as a gesture of good faith.

Listen to the Cubs from your cell-phone
This number broadcasts Cubs baseball over your cell phone. It's often busy, but it works:
312.923.1938
Part true
- Open as many windows as possible works but stay on top of it because there is a time limit once you are selected to buy tickets.
- I don't think hitting refresh helps the matter any. On the other hand I haven't tried because there is always big bold print in the VWR saying do not hit refresh.
- The order is completely random in the selection process but arriving early means there will be less people logged on hence a better chance to get selected.
- Bourbon and lots of it
not sure how ill pay for it,

question
In 2003
I remember spending 3 or 4 hours a day checking on-line and trying to get a ticket and continually being told the games were sold out. I also remember that you had to enter one of those funky blurry codes each time you tried.....BUT...finally on Thursday (before the Fri,Sat.,Sun.) games, you could get in and get single tickets...good seats also.....but you had to keep trying...you'd get a ticket....and then be told sold out several times....then....another ticket would pop up....couldn't get "seats together"....but was able to get seats to the games....granted...I'm sure the demand is greater at Wrigley Field/in Chicagoland.....
How do you

Another bit for thought....
In 2003, tickets to the NLCS could be had in the parking lot of Dolphin Stadium for face value....it might be cheaper to by a plane ticket and rent a car to go to say Arizona for a playoff game then to pay broker price to see one at Wrigley.....BUT...my guess is Mets, Phillies tickets would be just as hot as Cub ones....LA/SD I don't know...SD Smooth Jazz man....any thoughts here?
